Stoops has already interviewed with FSU and withdrawn his name from consideration. So if Odom’s gone who do they go get?

The question is the AD better have someone a lot better lined up to take over.

It’s crazy that after all the bad teams this year, Arkansas will be the only team looking for a coach.

Chad was just that bad.

Yeah that's true, Odom would be very hard to replace.

Not the point! Look around! Not many are SEC worthy head coaches out there! SEC is the best conference of all!

Well actually, it kinda is according to your post. Odom has a pathetic record against any legit team with a pulse. Most are willing to chance it with someone different.

Much like Khan at the end of "Star Trek: Wrath of Khan" we can make one last desperate attempt at causing someone else pain.

Usually when you are the "spoiler" it means beating someone, not losing and making them keep their marginal coach.

So again who are the coaches that is going to recruit a lot better, going to stay at Mizzou for a long time, going to beat top 10 teams yearly, and want to go to Missouri over other schools that are a lot better? Not many proven head coaches out there or others would have gotten that sure hired and be fine. There is no guarantee MIZZOU will hit a homerun hire. That is what I am talking about. Not a lateral move from what Missouri have right now. If you can list THREE coaches that will get the job done and get Mizzou being a top 20 team yearly.
Nebraska hit a homerun hire! Scott Frost! Look at them now!

Why would he not be back. Mizzou is not exactly a destination job.

Exactly. Add the recruiting restrictions, 2 yr. probation etc. and anyone who is an upgrade won't want the job.

Barry is safe.

In 2015, football ticket revenue was $22M.

In 2018, football ticket revenue was $15M.

Tell me more about how we can’t afford to make a move.

Well y’all have less money as per your post hence you can’t afford the move.

It’s a university not a career gambler that can see the bigger picture.

Mizzou is one of the poorest athletic departments in the conference. Only vandy and state make less.

Mizzou is like any other school. Firing a coach and paying a new coach comes down to the boosters. If the AD has a list of donors willing to back his move, then Odom is gone.

What is killing Odom is that the fans never liked the hire and when he loses a few games attendance drops to the 40's. Low football revenue effects all other sports. A new hire springs hope, hope gets better attendance.

To make money, you have to spend money. Or is that too sophisticated for some folks? Like the MU Administration perhaps?
