The football portion of NCAA's investigation into #LSU was in the final stages of completion.. and then this happened: Odell Beckham handed out about $2,000 worth of Benjamins on the Superdome field after the team won the national title. NCAA reopened the football investigation

He’s always been a fricking moron. This is what happens when dumb people get money. He’ll be destitute within five years of his retirement

He's a moron, but the NCAA has no say so in who the CFP Champions are.

Well, they sorta do to an extent.

When USC’s 2004 season was vacated in 2009 or so, it meant that the BCS Championship game was also vacated.

The BCS established a precedent by nullifying the trophy with that game, and since the CFP is the successor organization to the BCS (for a all practical legal purposes, they are the same organization), it would be logical for the CFP to follow that precedent.

Yeah this is old news. I'm not saying it shouldn't be posted now. Only saying that we've known about it for a while. That's why LSU was trying to keep the cases separate.

Make them vacate or even forfeit the win. If the game never happened on record, they aren’t the champs.

Games are removed from records because of ineligible players playing in said game. Please layout how this proves ineligible players played in 2019?

Yeah but when you take your kids to the games and they see the last natty banner is from 2006, and the university never publicly celebrates that team, you’d be surprised at how quick people forget about them.

For Odell handing out money after the game? Would that have made those players ineligible before the game? Or do you not understand the logic in how and why games are vacated? Not to mention, three of the four players who Odell gave money to (Kary Vincent, Jefferson, Burrow) never played another game in college.

Yeah but it’s going to be funny when everyone gets to say you haven’t won a title without Saban recruits again

LSU guys in the Rant are playing up the NOA’s acknowledgment that LSU already self-imposed penalties for some infractions, but they obviously chose to impose those self-penalties (sitting out a bowl game) during what was already a down season.

Any chances that the fact that the NCAA acknowledges that this was a systemic and recurring issue for 8 years (2012-2020) cause them to go back and impose stricter penalties on top of the self-imposed ones?

LSU still was bowl eligible and sacrificed their cut of the SEC bowl revenues which would have paid out regardless of how LSU’s season was going.
