Hes waiting for his kids to leave Oxford.

After that, he really wants to be one the all time coaches.

He needs to win a college NC and then he will bolt to try to get an NFL title when Jax, Tampa, Miami or one of the LA teams have an opening.

He wont leave Oxford until his son graduates High School and daughter leaves Ole Miss.

There's a rumor that they don't like each other. Maybe Kiffin doesn't like Scott but a Swamp 247 mod just stated that it isn't true that Stricklin doesn't like Kiffin.

It was widely rumored that he said as much before he hired Billy Napier. Mullens told him to hire Lane and he didn’t even call Lane. Also, Jeremy Foley and Lane have had a couple of public arguments and Foley still has pull.

All bets are off. He probably will want to move to a blue blood if he has the opportunity.
There's no probably to it: he will absolutely leave for a blue blood tomorrow if one came open, regardless of his son's high school football career, but Florida ain't one of em, because Florida ain't a blue blood.

I get we all have our biases from the days of Spurrier and Urban, but Florida is pretty middle of the pack otherwise.

In fact, since Urban left, they've been an absolute dumpster fire nothingburger. Why would he leave to put up with that nonsense? He certainly won't for an extra couple million dollars per year unless Florida came at him with a huge, 2nd to none, guaranteed NIL package. As an elder millennial, the Florida of today is a remnant of what they used to be - their brand is damaged. It will take unprecedented moves by them with no slip ups to correct it. If they botch this hire, they may wallow in mediocrity for the next 20 years or more with no hope of getting out.

All this nonsense talk of him being in love with Oxford and maybe-probably never leaving is delusion plain and simple. The man is an SEC head football coach. They don't think like we do. They want to win, and moving is a part of the job.

With the coaching changes going on this year, and just as many likely to open next year (with next year maybe having more Kiffin-preferred opportunities), I don't see any way how he's still there in fall 2028. Regardless, that's a good run for Kiffin being at the same spot.

I'd fire the AD and let Kiffing pick the AD. Lane should have gone from FAU to Florida in the first place.

Umm...LSU is not a bigger job ..the ego is insane with some Tiger fans. Alabama is, Texas is, Georgia is, Ohio State is...not LSU at all. It is Tigerdroppings it is the only reason you will get supporting votes...lol

LSU/UF have equal resources/fan support but LSU doesn't have to compete with two other power schools in state. That reason alone makes it a more appealing job

Ole Miss and Florida are equal in having a chance to win a championship. The cost of living in Gainesville is 19% higher and the taxes are 4.4% lower. Is Florida going to be willing to pay 15% more per year than Ole Miss? Nope.
