Maybe y’all’s jealousy will force you to compete.

Dude, y’all can have baseball. Go win 10 national championships in it for all I care. The actual sports that matter are where we are investing most of our money in. And yeah, we missed the playoff last year. But that 10 win football season brought in almost 18 times more than our most profitable baseball season has ever produced.

If/when the time comes that the SEC is going to look at possibly getting rid of some programs, do you think they’ll look at baseball facilities and coaches over football and basketball? Absolutely not. They’re going to be looking at who is bringing in the most money. And baseball doesn’t bring the conference much money or viewership. I’m not saying Ole Miss is some beacon on a hill to be admired but we are at least bringing in viewership where it matters.

It’s a great hire, elite even. Don’t get us wrong. It’s just not where most ADs would invest their money. Mississippi State is an anomaly though. I’ll give you that

We love college baseball, went out and solidified it. If Leach hadn’t died we would be in pretty good shape football wise, but 3 coaches in three seasons would hurt anybody, especially State. Our basketball program is pretty solid. Y’all just keep blowing your kid’s inheritance on football recruits.

Baseball means nearly as much as football to our fan base…more to some

**more to the people that have money**

Not saying it’s a bad move, but punting football to move to the top half of the SEC in baseball is a very short sighted move IMO.

Lot of people in this thread suddenly interested in State’s finances. I remember Yancy Porter expressing the same concerns on the new Dudy Noble.

I really don’t want to agree with just about anything Yancy Porter says, but was he wrong in saying that? You haven’t turned a profit in baseball since before it was built. It could be getting better though. 2023 your baseball program lost $2.3 million. 2024 was close to $1 million. We’ll see how the numbers shake out this year

As a Razorback fan, I think that a very competitive MSU baseball squad is good for the SEC as a whole. I think this is an excellent hire. Will it produce fruit...only time will tell.

MSU is a staple of SEC baseball, right up there with LSU and others (though not in titles LSU fans!!! I give you that).

Beautiful stadium, awesome fan support....hoping this hire works out as well as I think it will!

You are in a state thread telling everyone that will listen that you don’t care about our hire. We don’t care that you don’t care. Keep spending tens of millions getting to the gator bowl. That’s fine with us.

Too bad Ole miss has a natty in recent years then y’all. I’m sure state lined up the fat bitches at the airport for him, damn near all y’all got.

Cool you’re still a state fan, you still have 1 baseball ring like Ole Miss but your fans swear up and down they’re up there with baseball elites. You support the worst football team in the conference. You’re in a race with Delta state for prettier chicks, usm laps yall. But yeah congrats on y’all’s hire, at least Mike made a regional without even having a top 25 preseason ranking. It’s people like State fans that give fat bitches confidence.

Should have hired the UALR coach. Much cheaper and a lot more tread on the tires. He’ll land somewhere.

Maybe some day.
There’s always been a weird aversion to bringing back former players. It’s died down as we get further away from Coach Polk. Too many supporters wanted “their guy” so they would run down the other guys. It got unhealthy for a while.
I hope Curry hits it big somewhere. Love the way his team plays

For baseball? That's stupid.

Have you seen how uncompetitive they are in football. And how much money they spent on their new baseball stadium? They’re going all in for the one sport they can compete in.
