Florida, you're in the Big 6 and too good for Michigan's sloppy seconds and our sloppy thirds. Are things really this desperate in Gainsville?

The OC is an extension of the HC if he is offensive minded. Main reason I like Nuss is his work with QB's.

Mac will call plays. I think Nuss will be mainly for teaching.

Maybe I'm being too negative. He did mentor Devin Gardner (1900 passing yards, 10 TDs, 15 INTs this season).

No, Nuss will call the plays. However Mac will have a heavy hand in game planning which is 90% of being an OC. The other 10% is getting into the flow of the game. This is a good hire for UF, since McElwain will already be heavily involved.

Yeah and Gardener was trash. Was before Nuss even got ahold of him. He coached him for 1 offseason. When a QB is that terrible, it takes more than 1 offseason.

I am one of the few that has respect for Nuss. He got a bad wrap for some reason when he left, but he was as solid as they come for us. Our offenses in '12 and '13 were really good. People can say that it was the talent all they want, but someone has to call the plays and he did a good job of is most of the time.

Prayers sent gators

My gripe with Nuss was that he often called a balanced game for the sake of being balanced. It'll get your dick hard when it's working, but if the pass wasnt working and we were getting 8 YPC he still wanted to pass, and vice versa with the run. 2012 LSU was a prime example. Lacy and Yeldon were eating in the first half and then we came out in the second half trying to throw it around the yard. He did the same shite against Georgia until Saban blew a gasket, and we proceeded to run it down their throats. Nuss would rather be balanced than stick with what's working, he was the anti Mcelwain in that regard. Nuss out thinks himself sometimes.

Gardner Stats
2013 (Pre-Nuss): 2960 Yds, 21 TD, 11 INT
2014 (Post-mentorship): 1896 Yds, 10 TD, 15 INT

All that tells me is he was too retarded to learn the system.

I just hope we aren't paying him what Michigan was paying. We should pay him a salary commiserate with someone who was out of a job (which he was along with Hoke).

I like the hire. It'll be nice to have an offensive HC with an OC he actually knows well.

I wonder if Groh is next for WR coach?

The general consensus is Groh is coming. Should be relatively soon.

I'm not excited about this hire at all.
