Why in the hell would CBS choose UGA-Vandy over LSU-MSU? There is no doubt that atmosphere will be fantastic and it will be a very intense, competitive game. What's the deal?

because TV crews hate having to deal with the fricking noise from the cowbells.

Because anyone with a full set of teeth doesn't care about st.

Because contractually they do not receive "first pick" until the third week of the season.

Because every team has to be on CBS a certain amount of time. There is no appealing game for Vanderbit, so this game is as good as any to pick them

LSU-Auburn is their game the following week. Probably spreadin the wealth and not taking LSU two weeks in a row.

With the new ESPN contract came a new rule for CBS, they can no longer select the same team over and over and over during the season, home or away.
There isn't a rule saying each team has to be shown during a season, CBS was selecting the top team(s) each year every week and ESPN called foul, plus one AD bitching about how his team had to play during daylight hours because of this.

Gameday will be at Bama/OM and it's already a night game... No CBS.

LSU and Georgia are both traditional powers, so it amounts to how good the opponent is.
Vandy is a better program than MSU.
