He's actually discussed this very topic a couple of times already.

Mel Kiper gas broken down Gmac vs. JJ? wierd.

btw, bama fans will take Gmac, LSU fans will take JJ and neither will give a shite what other fanbases think. so basically these threads comparing the two are pointless.

Those are actually a couple of very important aspects of QBing that you're mocking there.

They are important, but its not a necessity to be a good QB. I am assuming you are a saints fan? Ever heard of a guy by the name of Drew Brees?

He's just good. I wish I had a link to all of his highlights...not just the CFA bowl. I mean, this is him as a true freshman. I think if our O-line starts to gel, we'll see some amazing throws out of this kid.

Probably a hell of a lot smarter than you. And I really was asking if he was comparing the two. I didn't read the whole thread.

I would take Jefferson, cause McElroy wouldnt live a game with our O line and how its been playing. McElroy looks like a better passer, but JJ has better legs and more intangibles

What are we going off of other than some sort of speculation?

JJ went 13/13 in the first half against GT leading LSU to 35 first half points in last years bowl game. He has been solid in the rain and on the road as a very young starter. The offense is relatively unchanged from last year and really has the potential of putting up big numbers. The team tried some new things on offense against Vandy, but I think the rain slowed it down a little. I think the ULL game will really allow the offense to work out any kinks and try some new things. I don't think it is a good idea to go crazy in the away game opener across the country or in the rain against an SEC opponent.

The fact is JJ is a tall QB which is good because it helps seeing over the line and hopefully limiting knock down passes. He is very mobile even though he is still a pass first QB. He also is very safe with the ball. He hasn't turned it over as the starting QB(4 games). I would say he is no worse of a passer than McElroy. He is younger and appears to have more overall raw talent. It will be interesting to see him get a cupcake to destroy this coming weekend.

Look, no matter what you say, this rube is going to shoot it down. There is no debating with stupid. Just tell him he is right so he can go to sleep and leave the rest of the world alone.

I think JJ is a really good QB, and I never said he wasnt.

I agree, but to say he's undoubtedly better than GMac(like some posters in this thread) is just bias speculation.

Well I think he is at least as good as a passer as McElroy. He is taller, younger, and mobile. I think if you believe they are even close to each other as passers you would be a fool to not pick JJ.

I would like to see an argument why McElroy would really be a better choice.
