I want Reed to make a few plays...maybe just enough that he doesn't get pulled. It may sound dumb but I still have PTSD from the 2024 game. We had Conner Weigman completely contained. He played so terribly that they pulled him and put in Reed and he ran completely wild on us.
It was obvious that we had not prepared for him. I just looked and at least their backup is a pro-style QB.

I just can't believe the Chambliss situation.
A kid who is currently violating 5 for 5 rules. NCAA said no twice. Is playing a 6th year because of tonsillitis. But, somehow it's crickets from the SEC.
I mean...that is a bigger slap in the face than two 5 year kids, one of whom never suited up. And didn't neither of them play in preseason games? I can't remember.

What is there to fricking resolve? If no kid can play on TROs/injunctions, then you better start kicking some kids (like Chambliss) off of some teams. But, when you make this about LSU...and only LSU...then it is going to bite you in the arse.

Jeez. It was his third game on the road against a top 10 team with the likely Heisman winner.
Also with two interior linemen that probably didn’t even need to show up and would have been just as effective.

If we lose, I would say it eliminates us from the playoffs. I don’t see us getting through November unscathed.

I don't blame anyone for picking the Rebs in this game. The home team typically wins. They probably have the best QB in the country. One of the best running backs. They've had this game circled on the calendar. They will be absolutely motivated to play.
Meanwhile, we have a new QB who missed a crap ton of practice...one who also just threw three picks. The jury is out on our run game. We just lost a speedy receiver and our other receivers are good, but not great (yet). Blake Baker cannot seem to contain the dual-threat QB (see Chambliss, Pavia, Reed).
Even, with all that...I'm still optimistic as a Tiger fan. I hope our defense demoralizes them.

Chambliss had a mediocre first half but had some amazing throws and runs in the second half.

The reporting is a little confusing. Supposedly the judge enjoined LSU in the suit. I’m not sure if it was to pressure LSU to take the kids or if the judge was just trying to protect LSU if they did take them. But, I think it does expose LSU to some liability.
My guess would be that these players are going to sue the SEC for ignoring the injunction. Hopefully they’ll leave us out of it given that they know our hands are tied.

My useless opinion: 2022 should be a blanket waiver. Moving forward, I would go as far as letting anyone who doesn't make a final NFL roster re-apply to school...any school.
I don't get the concern over players who didn't get drafted, didn't make a team, and who have eligibility. We have players on the team right now that will absolutely be playing on Sundays.
Not sure about a player who is officially offered a contract on a roster and chooses to come back. Not sure why they would choose to come back but someone could likely do it if college money gets high enough.

You might be right...but that doesn't seem to be the reputation that follows him. The guy always played bigger than his size. He had great football knowledge. Even later in his career, other players said that it was like having another coach on the field and he always elevated the play around him.
It might translate well to motivating kids to play for the school he loves. I would be perfectly ok with taking that chance.
I think the buyout states that we will keep paying him monthly. Once he gets a job offer then LSU can buy him off with a lower lump sum. It will basically be bonus money for him at that point.
Of course...that's just a guess.
