No but they did play Clemson and Georgia, as well as VT and Miami. The rest of the west? I think that play is over now after seeing the results this year.
And if they're game with UCF didn't get cancelled, they would've played the national champions as well.

Content with the bama win, no doubt about it.
I don't really have to listen to either as I don't think I have seen a bama fan in south florida in a year or two. But I have about gotten to where I dislike UGA more than bama so happy bama won.

Most of my friends and family are Bama fans and since AU wasn't playing for the Natty I would rather see them happy so yes I actively cheered for Bama against Clemson and UGA.
AU is the only team in the SEC that has been able to hold their own against the Saban machine in Tuscaloosa so I feel no shame in having cheered for them to beat the pieces of shite from Athens, GA.

Here’s the truth. Both Bama and UGA have owned Auburn, but their only wildcard was the title they bought in 2010. That wildcard only applied to one team. They don’t want to talk about the 60+ years in between their titles, only the “1980” argument. When a fan base lives vicariously through their “biggest” rival, I think it tells you all you need to know. They’ve been exposed.
I have nothing but respect for Bama. They deserved the title, but that doesn’t diminish UGA’s accomplishment or trajectory. Both teams are years ahead of Gus. Good time to be alive

It'd be an interesting poll, but I'd suspect most Auburn fans were rooting bama.
The reasons already mentioned. One more doesn't seem like that big of a deal. uga not having one or really a decent shot at one during the modern era is a source of trolling for Auburn that we'd lose.
In the end every Auburn fan would admit it was a situation that wasn't in our best interest.
