It was said before the game and the National press has confirmed their logic as to why it will not happen. Only ESPN and some at the SECN want it to happen and are trying to push for it now.

It really would be the most obvious power shift if LSU kicked the shite out of Bama in a rematch this year. The symbolism would be epic.

As the leader of the New Orleans area chapter of the Sidewalk Bama Alums, who never went to Alabama, hell may have never even been to BDS and probably can't spell BAMA if you spot them the "BAM", who probably are old Tulane fans or U LA LA fans, can you tell me what is on the agenda for this weeks meeting? What is the feeling of the other miserable folks who are people similar to yourself?

If Bama gets in, the Bama melt will break the board when LSU beats them by 4 TDs (or more). You’d better hope you don’t get in, or LSU will finish off your football program in one season. Burrow May hang 70 on them.

The true melt will be if LSU does not get in. It will be the greatest day on the rant if they get beat by UGA and the selection committee goes OSU, CU, Baylor and UGA.

I imagine part of it is a sincere belief that Bama doesn't deserve it, and part of it the nature of revenge games in general being a challenge.
