ND needs to schedule a more difficult schedule. It’s the same thing next year. They play 2 decent teams in Miami and USC. The rest of their schedule all went sub .500 this year and is bottom tier ACC teams.

Now you see ... I have no problem, zero, with Notre Dame getting left out.

I also have no problem with them not playing a post-season exhibition game. I figure they figure they've practiced enough, and don't need the extra three weeks practice.

And make no mistake ... making a bowl is all about those extra practices if you're not in the playoff.

I do have a problem with the Big10 fining two teams half a million each for electing not to play in a post-season exhibition.

They are tethered to their "independent" history because it means they only have to play 2, maybe 3 tough games a year and can schedule the bottom barrel teams the rest of the way. In a conference, they will sometimes have to play more than that. Its hard to maintain 9-11 win seasons when you have more than a couple real tests

The domers being left out of a system they tried to fleece is as good as it gets

The Big whatever you want to call it up there in Midwest Yankee Land.

So this is getting interesting. Who here wants to "make the kids play" ? Because that's what ALL of you are talking about.

Notre Dame doesn't want to play. What are we all supposed to do ? Make them ?

I give them a small amount of props for calling out how stupid "bowl season" is now. And has been for years.

Way to rob your kids of getting one more game in a bowl environment, your fans from getting to attend and more practice for your players.

What a bunch of figs.

The conferences worked out deals with bowls. Those bowls agreed to payouts based on the quality of teams they should be getting. The conference owes it to the bowls to hold teams accountable. The fines are very well earned by the schools that sit out.
