I don’t think so. Book is a pretty dynamic QB. They’re defense is also top notch. They’ll lose but keep it close for 3 quarters.

2018 Notre Dame is a hell of a lot better football team than 2012 Notre Dame. Nobody will beat the crap out of this ND team.

I think ND is the 4th seed - regardless of who else gets in (GA or Okie).

Bama will crush them.

And . . .

How about we get rid of conference championships and instead have the 8 best teams play this upcoming weekend.

The last two weeks Notre Dame has to play a ranked team in nyc and then fly out out and play usc in LA while sec teams have a thing called cupcake week and never leave their five state radius

Notre Dame is ,more than qualified. This is just everyone being a bitch right now

The fricking love for Oklahoma out of all things. They are going to give up 70 points to whoever if the other team wants too

And Notre Dame has played Pitt and northwestern already the two teams that Ohio state and Clemson played today

To be fair to Notre Dame, not being in a conference leaves them with little room for error.

:kige:

Again, schedules are made years in advance and schools looking good years ago were bad this year like FSU and USC. This year the Irish schedule looks more like Central Florida's and nobody is seriously saying UCF has a shot at the final 4 spots.

Clemson schedule is worst than Notre Dame. And no it’s not like ucf schedule

Jesus. Not even close

Who knows what Georgia does with Nd schedule. They might have lost first week to Michigan. Then go to Chicago and play northwestern in the cold. Thenmthe next week fly out to New York and play Syracuse in the cold.

It’s just a different animal. Irish hpearned their spot this year and it isn’t even a debate.

Like they already have?

8 in 1 division
7 in 1 division

They could easily go to 16 if they added a team Notre Dame wanted like Navy

Notre Dame plays 8 ACC conference games with Navy as their fixed rival

8 conference games
1 Southern Cal
1 B1G game
1 rotating game between Stanford and 2nd B1G team
1 open game to schedule SEC / B12 / BYU type games

Not difficult to make this all work and pretty sure ESPN (ABC) + CBS + FOX would be happy to have the Irish in a conference they have deals with. The other schools would be happy having the Irish play so many games on their schedule in South Bend or "neutral" stadiums that are not really neutral to the Irish.

Why should Notre Dame have to play 12 power five teams or eleven and navy while sec schools play like three cupcakes every year and one an fcs school

That’s fricking retarded

That is like Duke playing in NYC in basketball, it is a virtual home game for them. The #1 section of the Irish fan base is in the east coast corridor (MA, PA, NY, and DC) and not in the midwest where ND is located. As for a "ranked" team, the Cuse went 9-3 with a schedule of kittens and puppies outside of Clemson and Notre Dame. Granted part is not their fault as normally Louisville and Florida State would not be teams under .500

Yeah normally this would be a game, but this year the Trojans won like 5 games? Besides, it is a rivalry game like many between the ACC and SEC and nobody gives those schools credit for playing those non conference rival games.

ACC and SEC have 4 annual rival games and another 4 that are near annual rivals
PAC has none
B1G and B12 have only Iowa vs Iowa State (teams not in the NC hunt every year)

It is easy for the B1G, B12, and PAC to scream about 8 vs 9 conference games because it makes them look like they have a valid point when they do not. B1G has lots on MAC games, B12 has lots of CUSA games, and PAC has lots of MWC games. None of those are P5 conferences like the P5 cross rivals between the ACC and SEC.

If the Irish joined the ACC and kept the USC game the PAC would have its only P5 cross conference game. Have them do that 7 more times and they would be more like the ACC and SEC.

They don’t need to be in the ACC, they need to play a game during championship weekend so they aren’t a sitting duck.

Notre Dame should petition the NCAA for a 13th game. They could very well schedule a team like BYU who's also an independent and have a 13th game played at a neutral site.

ND barely beat Vandy.

Vandy finished 3-5 in the SEC.

I don't understand the thing with the ACC Seems like they have more rivals in the Big 10 and are obviously better located for that league

I sometimes read ndnation.com for a good dose of schadenfreude. If you think Alabama fans are obsessed with history and tradition, that’s just because you’ve never experienced ND fans. They make us look sane and forward-thinking. The reason they won’t join the B1G is because of some slight that they feel ND was given by the schools in that conference back in the 20’s or 30’s. They talk about it like it just happened yesterday even though it took place before 99.9% of their fanbase was born and everyone involved is now dead. It’s really pretty bizarre.

Seems like everyone agrees ND is really the weakest of the field no matter who the fourth team is. I would guess UG, OU AND OSU would all be favored over them on a neutral field
