It's nearly impossible to find good sweet tea in Indiana. Not a good cultural fit.

Well that’s just embarrassingly wrong.

I'm curious as to why you say this.

Stop listening to the media, use your own brain and some simple research

First, let me clarify the distinction between the B1G and the SEC

B1G = eyeballs (will always be #1 probably)
SEC = product (just keeps getting better across multiple sports)

Second, look at the timeline history

1950's - 1970's (creation of the CFL to break the B1G monopoly)
1989 - 1990 realignment starts when B1G wants to add Notre Dame and Texas to get to 12). Folks forget Penn State was the 1st realignment in time but it did not actually occur till most of the other shifts like Hogs and Cocks to the SEC). The B1G staking horse were ND and Utx but Penn State was the Missouri of that round and the B1G sat at 11 for years waiting on the Irish

After this round, by actual product, not eyeballs
#1 = SEC (THE SIX)
#2 = B12 (OU, Utx, Nebraska, and a floater)
#3 = BE (most of the football schools now in the ACC)
#4 = B1G (basically Ohio State and a floater)
#5 = PAC (basically USC and a floater)
#6 = ACC (basically a basketball only conference, and Dead Fing Last)

Now skip to the Blair Report in 2009 and what happens next

B1G covets Notre Dame and Texas
PAC covets B12 schools not named Utx (KU / CO / TAMU / etc)

B1G uses Missouri to strike but lands Nebraska
PAC follows taking Colorado

B12 has been dealt the crippling shot but not the death blow, they are clearly wounded but are slow to react and when they do, they have WVU (and island) and TCU (a 3rd team in a market they own. Instead of adding say UC + UL and WVU + Pitt and invade the East with a solid 4 block they are in the public eye and indecisive.

PAC has to settle for Utah to pair Colorado (not great)
B1G has to settle for Rutgers and Maryland) (terrible)
SEC comes out with TAMU and MU (probably the best deal then)

The real winner was the ACC
#1 They survived
#2 The added BC (a prelim for Notre Dame)
#3 They added Miami (to go with their FSU add from the BE)
#4 They added VPI (from the Big East)
#5 Pittsburgh (another Notre Dame prelim, when the B12 should have)
#6 Syracuse (another Notre Dame prelim - PRIVATE school)
#7 Louisville (Down the road from Notre Dame and good sports fit)

(the real beauty was the Pitt and Cuse adds were FAST and QUIET)

quote:

They didn't add anyone in this latest shuffle

Maybe not to you, but Pitt + Cuse + UL was a pretty good start to lay the framework to get Notre Dame in all sports (CFB included). Individually they seem like "meh" adds but for a conference on life support that was huge!. Most have been playing checkers but give the ACC their due, they have been doing 3-D chess just to stay alive.

quote:

Clemson/FSU (at bare minimum, obviously UNC/UVA/Duke/Miami will land within minutes) are jumping to the SEC the very moment doing so is financially feasible.

This is where the talking heads have been dead wrong from the start. They view the SEC like the B1G in terms of gobbling everybody up when it is just the opposite. SEC should never raid the ACC, they should protect it. B1G thinks they can break the ACC like they did the B12 but the ACC has a SEC firewall if you will. The ACC and SEC not only have shared roots but they have long term historical rivalries.

Now after the last moves OU / Utx and possible UCLA / USC

Again, PRODUCT not EYEBALLS
#1 SEC (all sports)
#2 ACC (both football and basketball now)
#3 B1G (still lots of eyeballs but still not good product)
#4 PAC (mortally wounded and on the clock)
#5 B12 (body is dead, time to pick the corpse like the Big East)

If you mean "real" Southern "Sweet Tea" you can get it in any state in the US that sells bourbon.

If you mean the non alcohol stuff they serve that is not the real McCoy

Going back 200 years in the South it was undignified for a Southern Lady to drink booze. Back then tea and bourbon were about the same color so when she asked for a "sweet tea" it meant bring her a bourbon.

Kids today have no clue about their history.

Clearly the OP is an alter. He makes his thread and represents his team is Notre Dame, then throws a match on the Gas Station that is SEC Rant and walks away.

Are you going to pretend to be a fan of a different team every weekend? A week or two ago you were posing as a Miami fan and your post was being made fun of by thousands of people on Twitter.

Notre Dame won't ever join a league because once they do they simply become the religious school of the state of Indiana.

Notre Dame has a better chance of joining the ACC or the BIG10 than the SEC. The administration knows they won't last against SEC teams in any sport.

once again ND has drastically over estimated their position in modern CFB.

I see ND being forced to join a conference in the near future!
