Notre Dame didn't even belong in the playoffs last year

ND lost to N Illinois and played no one with a pulse. Meanwhile Alabama played USF, at Wisconsin, and the SEC gauntlet. We were left out with just 3 losses. ND complaining about not getting in this year with that cupcake schedule is hilarious.

I agree.

But ND nearly won the playoff last year because they had enough team talent that if they got hot in the playoff they could win.

Getting into the playoff is a very different thing that being able to win it. Indiana absolutely deserves to be in the playoff... but in my opinion they have ZERO chance of winning the whole thing. They just don't have the Jimmies and Joes to do it on their roster. They're something like 72nd in composite team talent.

The teams in the mix this year who have enough talent to win the whole thing are:

UGA (1st overall in talent composite)
Alabama (2nd)
OSU (3rd)
Oregon (5th)
A&M (8th)
OU (14th)
Miami (15tth).

I don't think any of the other teams has the depth of talent to win 3-4 games against playoff caliber teams.

Last year the final 4 teams were ranked 3rd (OSU), 4th (Texas), 9th (ND) and 11th (PSU)

I get what you are saying, however people have pointed out several years in which Alabama supposedly did not belong, and Alabama fans said the won the championship, so obviously they DID belong.

ND played for the National Championship, so using Alabama logic, ND belonged, too.

I think team talent now is not as good a metric as 5 years ago. Transfers are not given their proper talent usually

did they belong in 2020 when their signature win was against a clemson team without trevor lawrence, only to get blown out by trevor lawrence in the ACC title game?

Oh wait. A few times Bama had one or two losses during Saban era and had way more than enough team talent AND also would have been favored in any game but were denied because "didn't deserve".

Which is it guys?

I know what it is. You don't want daddy Bama to win yet another NC. We all know it. Don't feel like you have to admit though.

Bama got left out with three losses, Texas got left out with three losses…

Moral of the story? Don’t get three losses.

2025 CFB in a nutshell. You and your kind should feel ashamed for making statements like this.

I agree, but that is not how you make this argument

They re-rate players in the portal but they dont use the re-rate in the talent composite, they still use their HS rating. Which doesnt make any sense.
