How many does Ole Miss actually claim? Auburn catches crap because we thought about claiming some.. UGA, TAMU, and Bama all claim bogus MNC.

Biggest game in Ole Miss history: 2014 Auburn vs Ole Miss.

Biggest win in Ole Miss history: 2014 Alabama vs Ole Miss

I'll be real with ya'll and admit that we just don't have the history and prestige that other teams in the SEC have. I have more respect for Bama than any other school.

Our success is definitely a recent phenomenon due to good coaching and recruiting.

Will this success continue in years to come? Who knows....probably won't be able to keep up with Bama in recruiting.

Every Bama fan knows we currently have the talent to beat them and it scares them to death....if you're a bammer and think otherwise....then you're in denial.

Does any of that matter on Saturday when the game starts? Hell fricking no...all that bullshite goes out the window when we strap on those pads.

Had they won both the LSU '03 game and the Bama '14 game it would be LSU '03 but because they lost that one it's Bama '14

You can't lose your biggest game in your program's history.

Seriously though it could be Bama '15. Ole Miss can either stay relevant or slowly drift back to the middle based on this game.

Ole Miss only claims three. And no other team really has a better claim in any of those seasons. The AP simply wanted to punish us for the racial issues in Mississippi and on our campus at the time. AP awarded clearly inferior northern teams and USC.

1959: Syracuse went undefeated, Ole Miss didn't. And to be honest, national champions were decided prior to bowl games, so LSU really had as much a claim as Ole Miss does in 1959 given they had the same record and beat Ole Miss h2h

1960: This is the one title Ole Miss prob has a legit claim to

1962: USC also went undefeated. The UPI and AP awarded USC national champs, and almost all other outlets really.

Damn. .. now I don't feel like talking shite anymore.

Scared to death might be overly dramatic. But I think y'all will be one of our toughest 2-3 games. Worried, of course, y'all aren't the usual Ole Miss. But scared to death... nah. We've played in a lot of big games

As others have stated, Ole Miss claims 3. Only 1960 is legit (FWAA and the majority of the polls), but I understand the reasoning behind claiming 1962. We did not go undefeated in 1959 so I don't understand why that one is claimed....

As much as it pains me to admit this, this game belongs somewhere on the list. This was ND's only loss that season. ND won the remaining 10 games of the season, including a 38-10 defeat of undefeated and #1 Texas in the Cotton Bowl, to win the national championship.

Here is an interesting article about the game in the Clarion Ledger:

In 59 Ole Miss would have destroyed Syracuse. Yes the Cuse went undefeated but it would have been like awarding Baylor the title last year. Rebels dominated a much tougher schedule with their only loss being on a miraculous punt return TD against the defending champs and heisman winner at their place. They absolutely punished LSU in the rematch and only allowed 21 points all year. Eight freaking shutouts. Again, would have destroyed Syracuse head to head and anyone alive at the time knew that. In 62 they were undefeated and played in a much tougher conference than USC. No undefeated SEC team from those days needs to apologize for claiming a national title.

UGA, who didn't play Ole Miss, and the Rebs both were 10-1. Ole Miss beat three top ten teams, UGA win one. Ole Miss played the toughest schedule in the country and gave up 21 points with 8 shutouts. You surely must see that Ole Miss can at least make an argument for the title seeing as they were the best team? Not that Syracuse, who played a crappy schedule that year doesn't have a really good argument. They did beat Texas that year in the bowl. Arguably their best win ever.
