pretty sure their baseball team has won 2 of the last 3 natties
Yes. And the other years they didn’t get out of their regional.

I think most programs would take winning the CWS every other year

Actually he never made it to the sweet 16. He was suspended for the post season. The assistant coach made it to the sweet 16.

While they'll also tell you that Alabama would never hire Kiffin because he fricked a booster's wife.
The real reason he won’t be hired by Alabama is that Kiffin quit on Alabama during the college football playoffs. That is why Saban fired him. Saban thought it better to promote an analyst to offensive coordinator a week before the national championship game than keep Kiffin on staff.
quote:
When late Oakland Raiders owner Al Davis fired Lane Kiffin four games into his second season as coach in 2008, Davis said Kiffin had "conned me and conned all of you people."
When former USC athletic director Pat Haden fired Kiffin five games into his fourth season as the Trojans' coach in 2013, Kiffin was famously left behind on a tarmac at a private airport.
Now, a week before Alabama plays Clemson in the College Football Playoff National Championship Presented by AT&T, Kiffin has been dumped again.
No one then expected that he would ditch another team in the playoffs.

At the expense of football and men’s basketball?
No, most would rather be competitive in football and men’s basketball.

Says the fan of the team that hasn’t been to Omaha since the 90s

At the expense of what? You're literally just chasing your own tail at this point.

Omaha in June? Sounds incredible.

That pissed the boosters off, huh?

We certainly are not chasing LSU.

It pissed off everyone who had a fully functional frontal lobe. Many LSU and Clemson fans celebrated.
It REALLY pissed on Greg Byrne. He was relatively new as Alabama’s AD. He was floored that anyone would be so self-centered and narcissistic that he wouldn’t give the employer who resurrected his career one more week that he vowed to never hire Kiffin.

That's weird, since Byrne was hired after Kiffin departed.
But don't let facts get in the middle of your little diatribe.

Greg Byrne was hired on January 16th, 2017. That was 7 days after Alabama, with a brand new offensive coordinator, lost to Clemson in the national title game.
The peak of “frick Kiffin” at Alabama was in the month after that game.
It made an impression on Bytne.

Translation: Our boosters hate Kiffin and would never hire him.

It’s a schtick. He has no originality and probably has the speech memorized. It’s a pretty obvious strategy.
No need to mention it. Especially since he failed so dramatically at NC State.

Yes, our boosters hate him. So does the guy who hires and fires coaches.

Which booster is he? Does he have the wife that Kiffin supposedly fricked?

Kiffin is definitely hated at Bama. He will be really hated now that he is in BR. He is there for the long haul because nobody will touch his radioactive personality.
