Trying to defend College Station over Norman would be similar to trying to defend Norman over Austin.
You must also think Waco Texas is badass right?

This is coming from a guy who thinks the Longhorns got what they deserved after screwing over their own conference by signing direct contracts with ESPN.
Do you REALLY think that if ESPN offered a 20-year, $300 million contract for third-tier rights -- for your own school-branded ESPN channel -- that aggy or Nebraska (or Colorado or Missouri, for that matter) would've turned it down "for the good of the conference"?
You're fricking nuts if you do.

As much as I hate Texas -- Texas. At least they're not weird.

they are extremely similar towns except Norman is 20-30 mins from a small city so it has a slightly suburban side. It’s funny that you’re acting like they are drastically different places. The layout of campus and bars is even similar.
Neither is anything to write home about as far as a place to live outside your college years

That's like asking "Would you rather have a threesome with Jessica Alba and Jessica Biel or join a soup kitchen with a bunch of hobos?"
No doubt I would pick Texas over the A&M soup kitchen.

how are A&M admission standards compared to UGA? I was accepted to UGA is the only reason I ask.

Probably pretty similar when I was in HS, I have no idea now. OOS not sure either, both UT and A&M don’t really have OOS kids
Outside top 10% UT is def harder to get into than A&M though instate obviously

I'm 30 so probably about the same.
UGA doesn't have a lot of OOS either.

I would guess Texas is tougher than UGA, A&M probably similar or slightly easier. I dk though
A lot depended on what school you were applying to. If you tried to get directly into the business or engineering school at UT or A&M it was pretty tough.

I figured A&M was harder to get into than Texas.

No. Texas is the better school overall, I will readily admit that. And they get more of the auto admit kids so spots are more at a premium.

well, learn something new everyday. I knew both were good schools.

Aggy has a 77 percent acceptance rate. They have a stated goal of having 75,000 students. By comparison, UT Austin has a 39 percent acceptance rate and has capped enrollment at 50k for the past 30 years.
In the process, aggy are squandering the oil money trust (the Permanent University Fund, google it), of which they get 1/3 while the UT System gets 2/3 (and Austin gets the lion's share of that) over a juvenile dick-measuring contest with "tu."
They need about 400 more professors to have a comparable student/teacher ratio, and in the process, their academic reputation has suffered greatly.

It was as high as 77, and they decided they needed to cut back.
Nonetheless, aggy is far from selective and exclusive. They are a diploma mill.
