This is what happens when the great old coach "loses the locker room". They have just heard it all soooooo many times. Everything he says is stale and recycled. They not only know what Saban is going to say before he says it, they know how to pretend they GAF.

That happens in the NFL, not NCAA where the majority of players have exited the system within 4 years.

It’s not that they don’t want to play for their coach. It’s that they know that this game means nothing. They are not motivated to play in the Citrus Bowl as they would be a playoff game. They are simply a victim of past team’s accomplishments and their own sense of entitlement. They thought that because they were the omnipotent Bama, that they had a birthright to play in championship games. When it didn’t happen, they lost motivation to play. It’s not just Bama. Every time a Miles coached LSU team lost to Bama, they all but mailed in the next game or two.
