Like I said, Bielema's players from Wiscy were impressive young men when interviewed upon his hiring here. It made an impression on me. I like to think we are bringing in the same caliber of people.

It's not about the severity of marijuana as a drug, it's about having the maturity to abstain from using a substance that is banned by the NCAA.

IMHO, it's about whether you get caught. Damn near every college student smokes pot. It's absurd to ask players to abstain when it doesn't help their performance, they're going to be around it constantly in a campus environment, and it's becoming legal in a lot of places. Alcohol is just as illegal for many players yet few test for that although it's possible to test for.

In my opinion non-performance enhancers shouldn't even be tested for by the NCAA at all. I could go along with the schools testing for illegal drugs but only to see if someone has a problem and help them if they do but the consequence for anything other than pot should be treatment - real treatment.

There's no justification to violate players (OR employees) privacy and it's a goddamn shame we've accepted such an intrusion. For employers, suspicion and/or an testing at the time of an accident is about the only thing justified.

And I say that as someone whose only drug of choice is nicotine and the occasional drink.

Fat Bert is obviously building for a brighter tomorrow tomorrow and as usual the porkers, as they always have, are laying claim to the moral high ground.... at the bottom in the SEC.

When Auburn for example goes 0-8, we fire the entire coaching staff for allowing the program to fall that far and we welcomed the change. The porkers on the other hand, applaud the effort (or lack of) and praise the staff because they're doing it the right way, the ethical way, just as they did with the previous lying sociopath coach who was banging the blonde chick behind his wife's back.

No fan base in the SEC takes such pride at sucking and shitting the recliner like the porkers. It's almost as if we're at hogtville where the porkers are always superior to everyone, especially Auburn.

Choke on it pigs, everyone's enjoying the hell out of it.

Bert isn't exactly a "quality" person, either.

So a kid makes a mistake and doesn't deserve a second chance? What a douche. Most of these kids come from poor families and backgrounds, not all will be saints when they step on campus. Obviously it depends on the transgression, but if he really feels that way, I feel bad for Arky recruiting.

Such pussification of America.

DGB has had about 80 2nd chances, and no-one DESERVES a 2nd chance, you earn that. This mentality of being owed a 2nd chance is why there is little accountability in society and parents keep churning out shittier and shitter kids.

Not what Bret said. He looks at each possible transfer and researches their background. He has a line (illegal drugs, crime) that is a 'do not pass' line to accept a transfer. He's not denying them a second chance, just saying the chance is not going to be at Arkansas. Plenty of Auburns out there for them to go to.
