The voters would adjust how they rank. Go to a computer/AI system to remove the human element.

It needs to be more stringent at least. Put more qualifiers around it
If you can't make the top12 there's probably a damn good reason for it.
They are just trying to kill meritocracy as part of the Marxist movement going on in this country, heavily lead by media corporations like Disney who have huge influences over the sport as well.

It really is the best position, as you also know who your round 2 opponent will be and can have staff focused on that prep
To be fair, the 4th seed has that same extra time knowing they are playing the 5 as well.

The human element in those computer rankings is the formula itself. Which is to say, some of them are absolutely dog shite and should never be considered.

ND blew out Navy, no G5 deserves a shot this year, but I know it's mandatory.

Crazy things happen. They'd still have to divert some energy into both.
Honestly, if things hold course. We will have 2 BIG Teams and 2 SEC Teams in the top 4 also playing their CCGs.
UGA sits in a good position to go from 5 to 4 without a CCG if Aggie beats Bama

I get it, you just HATE that one of the coveted CFP spots will go to a team none of you think deserves one.
Well, remember the words of William Munny, "Deserves got nuthin to do with it."
You want the top 12 teams in the rankings.
This week the 12th team is Oklahoma at 7-2.
There are nine other teams with the same or better record ranked below the Sooners meaning ten teams could argue for that 12th spot.
Now let's get real, which of those ten teams do you think could seriously compete for the championship assuming they win three games to even reach the final?
Let the Group of 5 team in, heck they might expose their first opponent and advance to the next round.
Eleven Power 5 teams are seven more than we used to see in the CFP and truth be told no one seriously thought a 5th team was better than those top 4.

and in Year 1.. the 8th seed took home the trophy, winning each game by double digts..

Why do you say that?
I say that because I would prefer to see a conference champ over a team that finished fourth.

At this point, it goes to an UNRANKED team. Pure charity.
That is one HUGE asterisk in the record books.

This is the answer. The BCS was about to get nailed by Uncle Sam for not realistically allowing a G5 to win. The CFP knows that.

As I predicted years before this shitty system was put in place would happen.
There use to be a day when teams had to argue for the 1st spot.

This is one of the dumbest things I've read on this forum.

We need to completely get rid of any and all auto bids of any kind. Top 1-12 only no exceptions
Exactly. If you can go undefeated against a joke conference you'll end up in the top twelve. If you don't, you don't deserve to be there anyway.

And you're right even P4 autobids are stupid. Just let the best teams play, even if 11 of them are from two conferences. Everyone knows where this is headed anyway.

Just wait til that committee forces an auto HBCU bid into the bracket. Not kidding, either.
HBCU teams play at the FCS level and most are lucky to hang on to their spots there. They aren't even guaranteed a spot in the FCS playoffs. Their big thing is the Celebration Bowl between the winners of the MEAC and SWAC.
If you are worried about them making the FBS playoffs you have some deep seeded issues that you need therapy for.

There is nothing to google. Where do you get this idea that any team or conference has a right to make anything? The FBS is not only a voluntary division for schools to be in, they have to meet certain requirements as well.
Our country is based on meritocracy, not this DEI bullshite they are indoctrinating kids with these days. You are not entitled to a damn thing.

Why do you prefer that? You don't want to see the best 12 teams?
