For the first time since there has been an Uga, there won’t be an Uga mascot on the sidelines with the Georgia Bulldogs this football season.

Uga X, the latest in a long line of white English bulldogs who have served as Georgia’s mascot since the 1950s, will be banned from the field this year. But it’s nothing personal.

All live mascots are forbidden to be on the field by NCAA and SEC mandate. It’s part of the social-distancing plan to be able to play football amid the coronavirus pandemic. Only players, coaches and personnel deemed “essential” will be permitted in the area considered the field of play.

We certainly don't want UGA to get COVID.

Is it the mascot, or is it really the handler being banned?

UGA is so inbred his eyes don’t look in the same direction. I doubt he even knows where he is.

Actually sounds like a great thing for my school. Our mascot scares kids.

You guys should at least be able to have 10000 mascots in the stands full of racist ole miss fans. Why you complaining?

Pets and other animals can contract it from humans. They don’t give it to us but we can give it to them. Both dogs and cats have gotten COVID from coming into contact with people who are infected.
