It's sad how many of y'all want college baseball to be more than it is. I really hope Alabama continues its upward momentum in the sport, but it will never be fun to watch.
I've never seen it anywhere else either. Just so weird, the whole "big 3" thing.
It's like the Atlanta United fans who think winning MLS is the same as winning the SB or World Series. Like they honestly think that.

Nobody addressed the premise . Being a freshman at LSU for instance, with cash in your pocket, coeds, access to Maruccci, the training table etc is so far superior to 3 years in the minors it is crazy. Therefore your roster is more talented, the on the field product is superior and more people get into it.
What college baseball players will "make bank?"
You think fans are lining for their autographs or buying their jerseys?
LOL!

290$ for the whole year? My co worker's son just finished his travel ball. Won state in 10u. I asked him how much the season cost him. It was easy 2K. In central Arkansas. But, travel baseball is big here. It also produces a lot of great players. Half of the Razorbacks roster is in state kids. I wish my state would treat football the way they do baseball.

Because middle age pervs will be whacking off to her Instagram account.
There's no such correlation to college baseball players.A tiny fraction of a tiny fan base MIGHT pay for autographs or a jersey.
You can't be this delusional.

You don’t understand. You think it’s 1980 and this is about Herschel signing jerseys. That’s sweet.

LMAO.
You don't think NIL will involve autographs or licensing of apparel?
Social media is also part of the equation but NONE of those scenarios is gonna propel college baseball or its players to some type of golden age or players making anything close to FB or Basketball players.

Cool. Send me a video presentation on Betamax format and I’ll watch it later. If I agree I’ll page you and we can meet at Steak and Ale and discuss.

Hilarious bro but you've yet to give me a scenario where all these baseball players are gonna make bank on the NIL.
You obviously don't think it will come from autographs or apparel deals for some insipid reason...even though multiple FB athletes have already inked apparel deals.
Give me your scenarios for college baseball players or STFU.

I gave you my explanation in the OP pencildick :
Quit being a dullard and listen to what I’m telling you. These kids Can go to college, be in a VASTLY superior setting, get their credit hour and STILL get paid . Now for some reason, you still think this is a brick and mortar world and you thing some Bubba in Athens has to walk into a store and get some Gomer to sign his shirt so he can scratch out a few bucks. But see there is this thing called social media that allows athletes to build a brand. And fans will INTENTIONALLY help these high profile kids by following them . And this will allow them to
Monetize their brand. Now, I don’t expect you to understand this, but I do hope you report back in 5 years with a mea culpa when the sport is much higher profile league- wide.

What a freakin clown.Did you not see my post about social media?
These guys are gonna "build a brand" in a sport where 99% of the folks on this board can probably name 3 players? That gets almost no viewership til the postseason? (still a blip on the map BTW)
1st rd picks with $4 million+ signing bonuses are gonna pass on that money due to NIL?
Who are all these fans that are gonna buy these brands? D1 average attendance is about 2000 fans a game AT BEST.The LSU,OM.MSU and Arky s of the world are the exception not close to the rule.
You'll be lucky if 10 players come close to having big paydays.

What an absolute load of crap typed by someone full of crap. You can disagree all you want and claim participation isn’t down. It is and has been down for several years. You are more than welcome to look up statistics. Your “young coaches who played in college and don’t show favoritism” is laughable. I played in college and it has absolutely nothing to do with coaching ability. For $200 a month, we can join your league? What a bargain, baseball usually lasts 3-4 months if not longer plus tournament fees not to mention 200-300$ bats. Your 290$ fee would be for a one month season. Travel ball has destroyed any connection players had with their communities and creates an illusion of inflated ability because they play on a “travel” team and have “won” tournaments. Parents expect preferential treatment because they have invested in many cases thousands of dollars and players bounce from one team to the next when those expectations aren’t met. Your anecdotal evidence is amusing at best.

You are welcome to look up college baseball viewership. It is almost impossible to find outside of the CWS and barely registers on tv viewership

Because she is hot boy wonder not because she is a gymnast

You're talking about an attractive woman with over a million followers on IG and almost 4 million followers on Tik Tok.

His logic is because a gymnast got a 7 figure deal then a lot of college baseball players will get rich because it's not as niche of a sport.

It may convince a few players to postpone going pro, but it won't be enough to generate a large influx of new fans.
