The problem isn’t getting the great classes, it’s the portal and what the players will do the second they get butthurt.

I think this is the reason you don’t see him getting on guys like he used to do. A guy gets his feelings hurt and he can enter the portal and be playing for one of your opponents the very next year. Coincidentally, Alabama now has a clear lack of discipline under this “nicer” Nick Saban…

Honestly, I think its a little bit of a lot of different things that have been brought up. Yes, 'Bama is still the most talented team in the SEC ... but the gap between them and the rest isn't as big as it used to be thanks to NIL. And yes, the transfer portal means kids aren't staying to ride the bench as often and waiting for their junior year when they can start somewhere else. And yes, both their coordinators are very inconsistent. Some weekends, its the defense. And others, its a lack of points.

Add to all that the fact that its just damn hard to go 8-0, then win a championship game, in the SEC. There are just too many teams that can beat you on any given weekend.

Before my next statement I will admit how much of a spoiled brat fan base I am apart of being a Alabama fan. Coach Saban has set a standard that has never been done before, every single year its a national title or bust. With all that being said on Saturday night after the loss I was pretty concerned for a couple reasons. Saban is the GOAT coach of all time, who is known as a defensive minded coach whose expertise is the secondary. That defense has been suspect all year, but the secondary has been down right awful. So it left me thinking, has Saban forgotten how to coach defense? Are the players just not smart enough to run his scheme? It's not like they have walk ons out there playing, all of these kids were highly recruited and talented. I give Tennessee a lot of credit that is a dang good offense Bama had 0 answer against that offense

Bama doesn't have a coaching issue.
They have an alumni/fan issue.

REC
Sidewalk alumni
$$$ and free stuff from Tuscaloser bidnesses.

That’s a fact. BoB and Golding are as stubborn as Les Miles.
Or Jim Donnan back in the day running 25 tunnel screens to Champ Bailey a game.

He knows it. It's why he's running around bragging about what he's paying Young but at the same time calling everyone else cheaters for paying players.
