Quote from a coach at a major program this off-season…

“Now, kids ask about NIL package first. Then they ask about how they’ll be used. Not many even ask about winning anymore.”

Serious question, how do programs keep a killer instinct when these are the best players on your team?

You don’t build your program like that. The core of your team and best players have to be team guys. Guys who want to win.

NFL seems to have done ok with players making money.

Nfl they get cut. College they’re fine. College needs to be able to kick these fricks out and you’ll get better football

Boulder is irrelevant. If lsu cut players they would cry. They wouldn’t do it.

Yep, it’s all business now. You don’t produce, get the frick out. U. of South Dakota is looking to fill out their roster.

Not a good comparison. NFL’s grown arse men and cutthroat.

Yep. Product will continue to diminish until this happens. Stop recruiting 8th graders then giving them money before they even play.

That’s my take. If you want to be pros, put on your big boy pants.

Cannot be the reason. That is unpossible.

I keep reading LSU fans saying that guys with character are the ones they want and sign. The ones without character that don’t care about winning take the cash and go to other schools.

They say they don’t have NIL funds to compete yet they have brand new locker room, 100 mil coach and air conditioning helmets.

That’s what I meant by “lack of” NIL isn’t why they lost. They lost because they don’t focus on winning. They avg top 5 top 10 recruiting. It’s a fkn excuse from their fans.

Seemed like every player on the field last night was a transfer.

Albany, Michigan State, Arkansas, South Carolina, Arizona State, Syracuse. I’m sure the list goes on but it seemed like after every big play they’d talk about where they transferred from.

You can only afford to have a few guys like that on your team.

Which is another problem. Why would you play hard when you’re not making as much as your buddy. NIL has a lot of issues and when people said no, others said it can’t go wrong. If anything they should be paid equally in what is left of this “amateur” level.

Just wait until people who spend money on this say fk it I’m done, it will finish off what’s left of this experiment.

There aren’t enough difference makers coming out of HS to fill rosters with. So, you have to play the game to land as many elite kids as you can.

What you do when they step foot on campus to connect and figure out what motivates them has never been more vital.
