Well I hope he enjoyed his 1 year in the playoffs.

And likely the only year he or his team will be relevant. UCLA doesn't care about football.

Seeing social media chatter that he's getting "somewhat north of $1 million" and the new party line from Daddy and his buddy is that it was never about money, "It was about the Tennessee offense."

And from a quick look through the UCLA boards ... there are some ... fans seen rather lukewarm about this. They just signed Appy State's QB who had much better stats than Nico last year ... yes, I'm aware the competition level was different.

And for those who may have missed it, UCLA hired Vinnie Sunseri's brother, who was co-offensive coordinator and QB coach for Indiana last year, as their OC so they're trying to get a little serious.

Just heard someone on radio summarizing a Plaxico Burress interview who supposedly has ties to Nico. Basically this did not start out about money and was supposed to happen after the season. It was originally about their concern that Nico was not a fit for JH offense and was wanting TN to make changes which JH said he was going to do. Ended up not making changes Nico tried to leave before spring and Tn started offering more money because Nico had reached out to other schools like Oregon who needed a QB. I have no idea if any of this is true but it is what Burres said in an interview.

You know, if Tennessee goes 7-5 there is a small chance they could play UCLA in a bowl game.

He’ll probably be back in the portal by then or holding out again.

It's not just UCLA. When I moved to California, my buddy and I (Auburn fan) went out to a bar and the USC-UCLA game was on. Big rivalry game, right? Or so we figured. Packed bar with the game playing on multiple TV's, and we were the only two paying attention in the whole place.

Then when UGA was playing TCU in SoFi, I was staying downtown for a meeting the next morning. The city of LA barely acknowledged there was a game being played.

College football just doesn't move the needle here, at least compared to what most on this board are used to. There's too many professional sports teams.

That sounds like a laughable story.

So the coach that focuses more on offense than any other in the league, the coach that had to change the play calling because Nico wasn’t capable of running the hurry up offense, agreed to make more changes to the offense because Nico asked him to.

This kid’s a clown and his dad is a lying sack of shite.

Isn't that the reason for UCLA and USC joining the B1G? So that fans of other teams can watch the game and would help with ratings. If they stayed at Pac 12 then their ratings would fall way down.

But one college is still willing to sign Iamaleava despite the hefty baggage: UCLA. The problem for Iamaleava is that it appears the Bruins are his only option, meaning they're under no pressure to up their offer for him.

According to a report from On3 Sports, that's exactly what's happening. The Bruins have decided how much they're willing to give Iamaleava, and sticking to it.

"UCLA is currently holding strong on their offer, which is significantly less than the $4 million Iamaleava’s camp wanted from Tennessee, sources have told On3. The market does not appear to be competitive to land Iamaleava.

Nakos also reports that if Iamaleava is willing to accept a deal worth around $1 million, "multiple schools are expected to show interest."

So he held out...for less money.

Nico is the George Constanza of college football.

Nico Costanza.

Nico watched the VOLS do very well with the same offense in 2022, sat behind the same offense in 2023, and played an entire season in the same offense in 2024, and NOW big nic decides it’s not the right offense.

Every single thing that comes out makes him and his dad look so much worse. It’s is almost impossible to get the entire country rallied around the Vols and yet they did it.

UCLA fans also hate their own program because the school stopped taking it seriously, and a lot of them are complaining that Joey Aguilar is going to transfer now.

If Nico got the top end of what’s being reported (~$800k), he took a $1.4 million dollar pay cut, and on top of that, now has to pay an additional $100k in taxes.

(Note that the UCLA stuff is still not 100% so this is all hypothetical)
