Nick is the king of NCAA psychobabble. A true Freudian slight of hand.

I would love to see him go, but I do not see it happening.

I am sure TX can offer whatever amount of money they want to,and they may. However, being a winning coach in AL makes him a god a super celebrity, while winning in TX would make him very popular.

Although he may leverage this conversation to get more points(dollars)in the coaching salary game, I would be shocked to see him leave the good life he has now.

And I agree with all of that. It would be easy for him to stay at Alabama, but 5 years is a long time in Saban years. And although his personality has somewhat changed for the better for those around him, it still has a shelf life.

He's not far away. QB changes wear him out.

The most interesting aspect of this for me is the LHN. Thus far, it has been a BIG disappointment, and directly led to the fall of a once great conference. Who's investment are we looking at there? I'm guessing there's some pretty big players involved. ESPN have a stake in that?

I think it's inevitable Saban's narcissism leads him to the booth. Sure sets the table for everybody. Personally, I like Saban at Bama, but his marketing ability has negative effects on LSU in almost every aspect, so I wouldn't miss him too much.

Saban's reign is dependent on whether or not its ok to have ex players run money from alumni to current players. If thats not a problem - then he'll stay at Alabama for another 5yrs. If it is a problem - I see him going to the pros for one more run before retiring. Maybe Cowboys or Panthers, but definitely somewhere with a QB and stacked roster.

This happens at every school with a track record to the NFL, Saban included. From what I have gathered during his days here, it's no different than a fraternity, and no one should have a problem with it.

It's mostly furnishings, and only applies to the high profile recruits, who in turn, pay it forward. SOP.

Not gonna happen. His ego is too fragile for that. Texas would make a very short list of possibilities. There's not a void he couldn't fill in one year's time.

I think he would dominate at TX. Look at the recruits brown gets, because it is TX. Now imagine NS with the best of the AL recruits and the best of TX recruits. While I am not sure you can do much better than he has done in the last few years, it would be easier in that conference than the SEC.
