So all in on the Mallett trade or gamble at the position next season.

Houston said last night they won't be trading for Mallett.

He's just as unproven at the NFL as any of the guys coming out of the draft...........difference is, his rookie contract is almost done.

Would be funny if a guy like Hubbard or Pagan goes before AJ

Why is it funny?

Funny in an ironic sort of way I suppose. We all knew that Pagan and Stinson would be late rounders if picked up at all. We all thought AJ would be an early rounder.

Maybe - arguments both ways I guess.

We'll see when he gets on a team and if he stays in the pros for years. I think he'll be a good #2 for most of his career, at least until he matures some. He has the ability and the football smarts - he is just missing that something to make him a starter.

I wouldn't bet on him either way. I would surely never laugh at someone for trying to make a team and do well.

We'll see where he lands. I can see him getting to a team that needs a good backup, i.e. Mallett, who was a supposed a-hole/headcase when he was in college too.

By early rounder, I mean earlier than Stinson and Pagan. There were games where they were brilliant, and there were many games where they disappeared.

Who was the last bama QB to be a regular starter in the NFL? Ninja started a game or two, IIRC. Croyle started a few games, IIRC. I can't remember the last one to be "the guy".
