We go to Tempe to play the Sun Devils

Isn't Ok State only like 45 mins from Fayetteville? Maybe an hour.
These two should play more often.

It's not that bad. Arkansas/Oklahoma State, Miss State/Arizona State and Auburn/California are decent matchups. Also, USF played bama very close last year.

If you look at our OOC opponents, even our cupcakes aren't as soft and creamy as everyone else's.

Depends whether Disneys advertisers are willing and able to pay. You watch the crummy games right? So do I. The Taco commercial pays let say for sake of discussion $1 for a 30 sec spot. If your team was playing ND, the Ad’s would cost $1.30. Do the advertisers get more benefit? Maybe if a National Championship game etc. Reality is the College football pie of viewers is finite. We watch games because we love the sport. Sankey wanted more money for an additional 9th (meaningful game). Obviously Disney was not able to get their advertisers to pony up. Maybe a bigger problem down the road if economy tanks and advertisers have to pull back on marketing.
At some point the ever expanding greed of College Football will hit a recession unless you can grab a huge chuck of NFL fans who currently care less about OU or Alabama or college football in general.
What may happen in the next round of negotiations is Disney and the TV powers demand better games without any additional money.
I hate what college ball has become but I’m old and won’t be around that much longer anyway. I remember Chris Schenkel and ABC wide world of sports being the only game on tv and it was special.
Students got a great education, those who wanted too and played ball. Some made it to the pros but most played for the ole school colors, grandma and apple pie.
I miss those days.
Today, it’s greed, ego, power, money and fleecing the pockets of us college football fans
So fu_k’em and Roll Damn Tide!
Just my 2 cents

Why is everyone scared to schedule a quality opponent with a 12 team playoff? I wish they would ban FCS games.
Bama plays AAC team USF next week and B10 team Wiscy in week 3.

State @ Arizona State has the makings of a good game even though it will be a late start. 930P Central Time kickoff Saturday evening. Both teams were impressive against admittedly very inferior opponents.

GT beat Florida State. Louisville does blow but they are a P5 team.

Florida - Sanford may be a death match. The last time they came to Gainesville they dropped 42 points on us in the first half of the game.

Those don't count. They blow and don't move the interest needle up. Yawn
Far be it from me to hype Louisville but they literally beat four of the teams on that list last year.

Second week always sucks more than the first. Great time to dove hunt

BAMA OLD TIMER...
I appreciate reading your perspective. So let me throw something else out there and let's see if you agree.
I think Cable TV, and thus, ESPN did this to the college game. Do you recall when ESPN first hit the air waves? They could not televise (nor even talk about) the NFL. The NFL was off-limits. So it was 24/7 (more or less) material about the college game.
And then we were off to the races. It took almost 50 years, but now we have the empire of paid players, billionaire coaches, 12-team playoff and free-lance transferring. Literally NONE of the parties involved have anything to do with academics, education, or even school pride/loyalty.
What we see as the tradition, grandeur and greatness of college football is all sitting in the stands. None of it is on the field. It's all in our imagination.
Well, that's my take anyway.
