Long and Jay Jacobs will be fighting it out for Rhett Lashlee.

Bert is not going anywhere. Razorbacks lucked into Petrino because mike Vick got hurt and he wanted to flea that dumpsterfire and take whatever college job was available. Then they decided to fire this gift because he was gettin a little pus on the side? Shiiiiiii

Arkansas' beloved son Gus will be available.

Frank Wilson and Philip Montgomery are two that I would hope we would take a close look at when we have an opening.
What Wilson has done at San Antonio is impressive. They play good ball. Obviously, he doesn't have the tools there he would at an Arkansas, but for what he has -- he's done extremely well.
And he has connections all through the South.

We need Jeff Long out like yesterday and replaced by a former football player.

You can say UCA. It's okay.

How about a coach that could get more out of the offense? One that has made his program rise up in their conference. How about Bobby Petrino?
Jeff Long thinks he's a meanie britches.

Arky really ought to go get Tommy Tuberville. No shite. He's a proven coach, Arkansas native, and has not much to do right now.

jeff long isn't paying that buyout this year. but if arkansas is smart they will fire long and have someone with a brain ready to make the next hire a year from now.

If there is a mutual parting of the ways, the buyout could be reduced to make it more palatable for everyone involved. The situation is fluid at this point.

I don't get the thought behind that comment. He said he has Arkansas connections, which UCA is in Arkansas so...no shite???

i don't see bielema walking away from the money. of course if the iowa jobs opens up you guys might get bailed out. long really needs to answer for this horrible buyout. totally ridiculous.

I'd explore the Dismissal/Termination for Cause section of any contract, especially the catch all provision. For example:
"Otherwise engaging in conduct, as solely determined by the University, which is clearly materially and adversely contrary to the character and responsibilities of a person occupying Coach's position or which materially and adversely affects the reputation of the University or University's athletics programs in any way."
Coach, we can do this the easy way or the hard way. Your choice.
