It’s basically a ten team playoffs for the rest on the teams. ND is in no matter what from here on out and a spot is left for the group of five.

Why would Sankey agree to this? He needs to be put on the record about where he stands, as does the BIG 10 commish. Why would they reward a program for refusing to join a conference?

So they're going to potentially kick out a #10 ranked team for a #11-#12 ranked ND when two auto-bids take the last two spots (similar to this year).

Why? Because ND refuses to join a conference and have a respectable schedule or conference affiliation to help push their interest? That sounds like a ND problem, not a CFP problem.

Who the hell agreed to this?

That or:

Not honor the MOU
Rank them 13 (or worse) annually

There's no reason to give Notre Dame special treatment. If they're good enough, they're in, if not, they're out. Should be evaluated like anyone else, without preference or prejudice.

At this point the only thing I am interested in is the SEC. I have zero interest in the other conferences and have limited interest in the post season. Playoffs are more about TV viewership and the corresponding advertising dollars.

You would think this whole fiasco and whining would backfire on Notre Dame.

BYU already took them to task for their weak 2026 schedule. Only 3 road games. No juggernauts. Every SEC school would reach 10 wins with that schedule.

Preseason ranking should be no better than the 20s. Then see if they are deserving of a better ranking.

The problem is anyone looks good playing Purdue and the other high school teams they play. Also the problem is preseason rankings, because those rankings persist year to year to year with teams that play crap schedules.

If ND starts next year in the top 12 (they will), then they will automatically be in the playoffs.

Why in the world world would Sankey and the other commissioners agree to this?? This makes no sense. We don't need ND to be in playoffs. Total bullshite. Their schedule is an absolute joke next year.
