You were taking the moral high ground about the reaction of fans, in part of your summarization of the thread. I am just saying that in the thread I linked, people are saying things like "grope on" etc. etc.
I am just saying that even though he was dismissed, it's crass and insensitive of LSU fans to minimize it. Just because he's served the punishment doesn't diminish what he did, or make it alright to trivialize the crime when someone was clearly violated in a way she shouldn't have been.

You're misunderstanding, I think, Bella. You see, once the punishment has been served, it becomes OK to marginalize the act.
By the same token, I actually WANT the teabagger to get popped and sentenced. That way I can go ahead and start making jokes about how Alabama teabagged LSU to death on Monday.

Fair enough, but we do believe in second chances don't we ? Forgiveness is the central tenet of our prevailing religion, especially if the perpatrator is contrite, is punished, seeks forgiveness, and has paid his dues to society. We generally allow a person to move on if that criteria has been met.
Whereas, on this board we just smear the person who points out the transgression, obfuscate as much as possible, use the mob mentality as much as possible, and mock/harrass/insult/bear false witness against those who seek justice , because it coincides with "our" interests.
