Nebraska seems to be the more talented team but also seems to be the worst of the two bad teams on the field.

It amazes me that Nebraska can still be this horrible under Frost. He was supposed to be the guy to bring them back. Adrian Martinez is absolutely terrible.

It really defies logic. Frost was the candidate after 2017. Not working out is one thing. But this is a dumpster fire. Still making the same dumb mistakes in year 4.

On the whole I agree with you, however in that case #2 royally screwed up. The QB had already released the ball and he knows that if you continue the tackle and then drive the guy into the turf , it is going to be a penalty. Especially after he has released the ball. Then to compound it he taunts the QB after the play.
So it was the right call. Defensive players need to know when to finish a tackle and when to release the player. They already know that the officials are going to protect the QB’s.
It was very costly for Nebraska.
I think they are by far the best team on the field but mistakes will equalize the unbalance in talent every time.

If Peters can come back at QB for Illinois, they win going away. If he can’t go, it will be interesting to see if Bert can ground and pound enough to get the W. Or will Martinez serve up the W on a silver platter with more plays like that fumble for the UI TD.
