LSU had one of if not the worst defense in the conference last year, just lost a Heisman QB and two NFL wideouts.

Unless maybe they figure out how to magically build a top 5 defense out of nothing overnight, that's silliest pick I've ever heard in my life.

Gotta go with the Vols - football mirrors baseball. How many of you picked the Vols to win in baseball? That's what I thought.

Great point! I also didn't pick Ole Miss or Miss. State to win the Football national Championships the last two years, either. Yet, since football mirrors baseball here we are.

However, in all seriousness, if Iamleava is as good as Vol fans hope, they will have a very good year.

Yeah, Ohio st gets picked every season for some reason. Last season, many had them pegged to win it all. Then they lost to Michigan for the 3rd time in a row, and got prison-raped by Mizzou in the bowl game.

I'd put my money elsewhere if I was you.

Ohio State
Byron Day is on his way to losing back to back bowl games to Missouri like that program did in 2000 & 2001 to South Carolina -

Georgia is about to win its 3rd in the last 4 seasons - they would've won last year had they been allowed to be one of the 4 teams to compete for it -

1. Michigan also beat Alabama & Washington and won the National Title, so what's your point ?

2. You're letting a meaningless Bowl vs Mizzou factor into your 2024/2025 National Champion Prediction ?

Yeah, that makes sense.

Georgia.

UGA has a coaching staff who's gone through playoffs before (though a 4 team model). Many other teams who make the playoff will have their first experience with it this season which could cause them problems.

They have a very good playoff record (5-1, with the one loss coming in OT)

They' have a high level of team talent.

They return their starting QB.

The playoff has expanded so the main roadblock (MAKING the playoff) is less of an issue now.

While none of this means UGA will win, it does mean they're probably the most likely team to win.

If I were guessing, I would guess that Ohio State has had the best roster in the nation for 2-4 years and have not managed to win everything. They can't win their conference or a title. They struggle, for some reason. I mean, is it so unreasonable to think they will fall short again? They are the Texas A&M of the B1G. All the talent but they fall short. Most are not picking A&M either, even though they had the 4th best roster in 2022 and 2023. Why? Because for whatever reason they seem to falter in big games.

(No offense to Texas A&M fans)

Well, guess what? That same team that worked Ohio State in your meaningless bowl, is returning pretty much everyone.

My money is on Mizzou to win the whole damn thing.

I think we will make the playoffs. We have a pretty soft schedule, and if we beat Texas or LSU + Mizzou or Notre Dame, we should be in.

As for winning it all? The Dawgs.

You are a special kind of stupid if you think Mizzou will win the National Title under the expanded playoff system.
Do you really think that Mizzou has what it takes to beat Ohio State, Georgia, Bama, Oregon etc. back to back to back ?
That's laughable.

This new system makes it easier for the low level teams like Mizzou to get in, but more difficult for them to actually win it all.

I think it goes
1) uga
2) osu(if I had confidence in Ryan day osu would be runaway favorite)
3) bama
4) all teams with 50% or better blue chip ratio
5) no one else has a shot

I think a lot of people are going to be shocked at how well Oklahoma plays on both sides of the ball. Defense returns almost intact and offense has serious playmakers. Year 3 will show that Brent Venables is going to be a coaching legend. His family atmosphere and contagious personality will draw many great recruits to Norman. Can’t wait to see it all happen this year.

The reality is 10 wins will get any SEC team in. 9-3 will give you a shot, but some things will have to fall your way. Having an easier schedule makes it less likely to get in at 9-3 rather than more likely.

With A&M's schedule, they need to get to 10 wins to be in the playoff I think. I don't expect that to happen.
