I disagree. These kids are students, and putting them up in baller dorms (which you know they would be given the current arms race in the SEC) just hurts that perception. It's also a slap in the face to all other students. It would also add to the egos of these 19 year olds making them even worse as far as off the field issues.

I'm tired of fans acting like the ADs are above the universities. It's rampant at Tennessee where skoal patrol fans want the chancellor gone because they think he's a Florida grad trying to kill UT football.

If your argument is that they are just students in name, then institute college baseball rules and a minor league. Which won't happen because it would kill the sport.

I think there should be a player draft as well. That's what sucks about college football is that traditional teams automatically get the best players every year. If the players don't like the school that chooses them then let them pay their own way.

Forget the fact that distance, academics, campus life, friends, and family have ANYTHING to do with life in college. Scholarships are a means whereby many not afforded the opportunity are mortgaging their god given athletic abilities for something greater. Sounds to me like someone is fed up with getting their arse handed to them in recruiting by big brother Year after year.

This idea could be the dumbest thing ever, even coming from an Auburn fan...Geezzzzz

Wha?????

I really get tired of everyone trying to NFL-ize college football.

There's 120 teams. The fact that people think there is a possible process of electing a champion that doesn't depend on a school's reputation, prestige, and regular season blows my mind.

People worry too much about who the national champion is, and want to water down the on-campus gameday experience for the sake of national TV.

These are players AT A SCHOOL. The money in and out of schools will never be equal. We need to get over handicapping prestigious football programs for some pipe dream of making a "fair" league out of 120 schools.

You arent gonna see "baller rooms". That would be blatant ncaa violations. You cant give them opportunities that other studnents dont have and that rule will always be in place. You will only see minor differences in these dorms than the normal ones. To say otherwise tells me you dont really understand how the whole student athlete - extra benefit thing works.

Baller rooms for athletes wont happen. Slightly nicer facilities will. And im fine with that.

Most football players major in shitty majors to begin with...they don't have time to study hard and play football.

I guess the football players that major in Pre-Med, engineering, etc., dont have time to study...geez...

Never happen. That's why we have scholarship reductions, which has worked the way they want it to.

• Remove restrictions on what schools, conferences and the NCAA can provide for team entertainment, such as professional sports tickets and movie tickets.

• Give schools greater discretion to provide financial relief to family members of an athlete who are sick or injured. The bylaws would remove the reference of "life-threatening."

These I do not like. Schools with more money in their budget get a hugh advantage.......

It seems as if every proposed change is blueprinted to allow the rich to get richer, allowing the monied schools in the SEC invincabilty while rendering The Mississippi State's powerless.

I can't wait to see the athletic dorm arms race in the SEC. Those will be some mighty fine buildings, I'm sure.

The old Athletic dorms were nicer than the frosh "general population" at Arkansas last time, at least in the sense of sharing a bathroom with a couple people instead of the prison style shower system in the "normal" dorms...
