Bring back athlete-only dorms with unlimited food. Let coaches talk publicly about their recruits. Allow transfers in all sports to immediately play.
Interesting!

• Eliminate restrictions on the number of off-campus recruiters at one time. The rule was adopted to contain costs, but the group found no evidence that it has worked and said it's hard to enforce. This was the so-called "Tiger Prowl" rule related to Auburn football coaches blanketing the state in stretch limos.
• Give schools more freedom to govern what happens on official visits by recruits. Eliminate rules once put in place to address isolated cases of perceived recruiting advantages.
• Eliminate rules about how to scout opponents since video is now widespread. The Division I Legislative Council still prefers prohibiting live scouting in all sports except for same-site competition games.
• No longer require coaches to become annually certified on NCAA rules. Schools would be responsible for educating coaches about recruiting rules.
• Let schools have earlier access to recruits in all sports, starting on June 15 after the recruit's sophomore year of high school. The idea is for recruits and schools to make more informed decisions.
• Remove restrictions on what schools, conferences and the NCAA can provide for team entertainment, such as professional sports tickets and movie tickets.
• Give schools greater discretion to provide financial relief to family members of an athlete who are sick or injured. The bylaws would remove the reference of "life-threatening."

athletic dorms would mitigate a lot of the off field issues...they should never have done away with them.

It's like they spent years making shite as strict as possible, now they are thinking about ditching all the BS.

I think there should be a player draft as well. That's what sucks about college football is that traditional teams automatically get the best players every year. If the players don't like the school that chooses them then let them pay their own way.

it's true man...it's bullshite that 90% of the teams in college football have a 0% chance of winning the National Championship.

They are STUDENT athletes, and even if some are using it to go pro, MANY are not. So, a kid from Alabama who grew up a die hard auburn fan and wants to go to Auburn cause they have a good Forrestry program and his family can see him play has to go to the university of Nevada cause they draft him? Are you fricking insane.

He can still go to Auburn, but if he wants a free ride he can go to Nevada.
What about the players that want to major in Forrestry but the schools offering them a scholarship don't have that major?
Most football players major in shitty majors to begin with...they don't have time to study hard and play football.

So Western Michigan is up first in this draft they get Mario Edwards Jr., you really think he wants to be there? cause he is only getting paid in scholarships, not like the millions in the NFL. And are you going to tell me that home grown kids aren't going to be able to get an education where they want?

Nobody is forcing him to take that scholarship. he can get loans or grants to get an education where he wants.
The same thing already happens to a lot of players. They don't get to pick and choose who will give them a scholarship.

The idea is so dumb, I'm not even gonna have this conversation.

I have to agree with the others. That's a pretty stupid idea.
