So…..just hear me out, think there might be a chance that a team or two from the SEC might have improved this season also?

the SEC football teams overall were vastly overrated as proven by the bowl games, playoffs

I don't know that they were overrated. It's a deep arse league. The big 10's best was just better. I guarantee you ohio state would turn down swapping schedules with ole miss and it isn't because they don't like winning easy games

Some have improved and some have gone down . Two teams that should not be in the top 25 and are going down in the rankings are Ole Miss and Kentucky. So IMO at best, the SEC should have 7 teams ranked...not 9.

Kentucky has 8 Quad 1 wins and the #3 SOS in the country. Of the current AP Top 10, they’ve beaten #2 Florida, #3 Duke, #6 Tennessee (twice), and #7 Texas A&M.

They’re right where they should be at #17.

And have done that while managing more injuries than most ranked teams and never being able to develop a consistent rotation. Kentucky has its faults, but how Pope has managed this season isn't one of them.

I’ll take the argument that they may not be consistent enough to put together a deeper run this season. I think we all wonder if they can do that, even healthy. OP is just not a serious person if he thinks we shouldn’t be ranked with the resume. Right now we should be a 3 seed in the tournament.

Bullshite! And now the rest of the story that you forgot to mention. 6-7 in last 13 games including losses to the following unranked teams...Ohio State, Vandy, Arkansas, and Texas. Like I said...utter bullshite if you think Kentucky belongs in the top 25. They are dropping in the rankings!

But hey, you are obviously biased as you have a K in your profile.

Why don't you let the rankings come out tomorrow and then bitch about it?

I apologize...I thought this was an opinion board. I will give you high marks for your profile picture of J R Ewing/Larry Hagman.

Auburn, Alabama, and Florida are the only elite teams.

Missouri is hot/cold, UK is the walking wounded, OM is "WAOM", A&M is "A&M", and Tennessee has Barnes. MSU won't get out of the first weekend and Texas shouldn't even be in the discussion, as Arkansas shouldn't either. UGA has done an impressive nosedive to solidify a spot in the NIT.

The top of the conference is good, and the rest is mediocre at best.

That's pretty much how I see it. BTW, my SEC NCAA predictions are not that of Nostradamus. The SEC has a pretty good history of folding early in the NCAA tourney. You are spot on with the top 3 teams which are in the upper tier. A&M doesn't belong there...neither does Tennessee. Missouri is overrated...Kentucky is overrated...Ole Miss is overrated...Mississippi State is overrated.

Just watch...as always there will be some mid major surprises that should have been ranked to begin with...at the expense of the SEC and Big 10.

A&M was a paper tiger and exposed this week. They will continue to lose down the stretch and will probably end up somewhere on the six and below seed line.

Tennessee will go as far as their seed positioning takes them.

They have a win over a probable 2-3 seed in A&M
In what Universe is this? A&M still has coming losses (probably double digits) against the likes of AU and Florida, and will probably lose to LSU because that is who they are ...

A&M will be lucky to get a six seed or higher.

No, I used facts to back up my argument. You're the one being overly emotional here.

Speaking of, who do you think are the 8 teams (with Kentucky at 17) that should be ranked over Kentucky at this point?

Dumb post. The SEC has crushed non-conference currently ranked opponents. Even the SEC bubble teams such as Arkansas and OU have impressive non-conference records/wins.

Did you not watch basketball at the beginning of the season? Do you know what the SEC’s record was against the other power conferences?

Also, and more importantly, OOC games as we all know are almost completely at the first of the season. IMO, judging teams qualify via games played months ago is useless.
You almost completed two whole coherent sentences. So only losing teams get better?

Huh? Just went through the topmost teams outside the SEC. Duke lost to AU, beat KY... Houston lost to AU and AL...Iowa State lost to AU... Texas Tech lost to A&M. St Johns, Wisconsin didn't even play an SEC team. Thus, they didn't beat all the other 40 teams if I took that literally. Even figuratively, Take away the Alabama schools which I didn't mention at all and the SEC was 1-1 on the top 10 teams I checked.
Dude this is such a weak post.

And you’re saying the SEC is .500 against top 10 teams when you take away 2 of our best teams

Isn’t that good?

You are probably right. As Karl Ravech discovered through some high level data mining, the SEC winning percentage dropped to .500 once the conference portion of the schedule started.
