WCWS gets underway from OKC Thursday at 11am.
I’ll make a new thread for the WCWS Wednesday night or Thursday morning!

Nope I follow softball and they can review their own calls at any time. I've seen it done on several occasions.
Idk for sure on softball, but this is the way I heard them explain it and this is also the way I just found it online.
Softball Challenges
quote:
The ground rules are simple: Each team gets two challenges per game and once you use it, you lose it – this isn’t the NFL, where if you go 2/2, you get a third. Nope, two challenges are all anyone gets. The umpiring crew *can* use their own discretion to review a play from the sixth inning onward.
Not arguing with you.. trying to learn about the game.

No
They can review their own calls at any time.
The discretion part of it lies in a request from one of the teams.
Pat Torino clearly knew that they had the ability to review the play and chose not to.
The umpires screwed LSU because it was obvious that the ball hit the runner.

I think this may be a SEC rule, not a NCAA rule.

I think it will be Okie St and OU playing in the final ... no surprise.

I think there’s a real good chance OU comes out from the other side..
I think any of Texas, Florida, Pokes or Stanford could advance. It will depend on matchups and good luck.
But yes, the Pokes are really good.

"The dominance of the SEC is proven by getting all 13 teams in."
Not so fast.
The State of Oklahoma has as many teams in the Elite 8 as the entire SEC.
The Big XII has 3 teams and BYU got screwed by not being selected for the overall tournament.

What determines whether a league is better than another? Its best teams? Or the depth of all of the teams?

I’ve also seen a fair share of folks talking about Tennessee winning it all as well.

Counting Texas and OU, how does UF have 8 SEC teams that spend more than they do on softball? That's pretty ridiculous.

Ole Miss' average attendance compared to their budget is kinda insane.

If 13 teams are admitted and 11 fail to advance is that depth or perceived depth? Perceived by the league's fans and the network that is broadcasting the games of the tournament that also just happens to have a big contract with the said league? Agenda?
