I didn't even read the article, but are they really giving out an award for "inclusion of minority groups"? That's like receiving an award for cleaning your room.

Or what? I'll meet someone over the middle?

Jeeze I almost shat myself in my office/dungeon.

Why did I eat Manwich yesterday? Oh that's right, I'm a poor, although that shite was delicious.

Among other things. You should read the plan. How do you take the current minority percentages for students, faculty and staff to mirror the mix for the state of Ms without damaging the overall university?

Ole Miss and Miss. State have the same board of trustees. Ole Miss didn't fire Dan Jones. Phil Bryant's pals did.

they built a diversity center for minority students, something basically every major university already has and has had for a long time

What does this mean? You make an effort to recruit promising minority students and faculty.

Wait, no. All Ole Miss people are racists and want to remain that way. Don't come bumping that shite up in here, it goes against tRant's narrative.

All you had to do to get this recognition was abandon your university's nickname and change its songs, color schemes, mascot, chants, street names, and traditions. Seems like it was worth it to get an award from the people who are going to sanction the shite out of your football program.

It's called affirmative action which only guarantees mediocrity. Why not say you want the best and brightest students, faculty and staff, regardless of race and go for it?

That's not true. Bryant made appointments in 2012 as well as this past year.

I didn't say that you admit minorities ahead of white students. I said you recruit them. Fostering an inclusive learning environment is not affirmative action. No amount of affirmative action is going to help if minority students don't apply.

Well, OK. But those that wanted Jones gone felt very strongly about it and many had Ole Miss ties (including one of Bryant's appointees). He even lives in Oxford.

Seriously, I don't know the details. I trained a short time under Dan Jones at UMC and he is an excellent doctor, but I didn't really pay attention to how he ran UMC or Ole Miss.
