Well, it's time to leave all the social media "experts" whose wishes predicate their predictions. Remember this, both sides have an awful lot to lose if cooler heads don't prevail. The COI should be fully aware that this case could be one of the major cases that could shake the very foundation of the organization. It may be time for them to move on and pick their fight with the next program. Oh, and it could well be yours.

Remember these numbers.

3 year bowl ban
30+ players over 4 years

If I'm off it is not by much.

If they raped Bruce Pearl for telling 1 lie, what will they do to OM?

You can't beat the NCAA. If OM does sue them, OM will lose. OM signed a contract with the NCAA giving them the authority to do exactly what they are doing. Any judge would laugh in the face of OM for bringing such a ridiculous lawsuit to court.

I've said this before. The NCAA is the kid that owns the sandbox. He's ALLOWING you to play in it.

The NCAA could give Ole Miss a 5 year bowl ban and nothing slightly negative would happen to them. The only people in the country willing to defend Ole Miss at this point are their own fans and alumni. They not only got caught cheating, but they got caught lying (in very sleazy ways). The NCAA would have to worry about being level-headed if Ole Miss had reacted truthfully and responsibly. The NCAA has no reason to practice restraint and no court worth a damn will award Ole Miss anything in a civil suit. The University went completely rogue and blatantly refused to follow rules it agreed to. It's over.

There is nothing novel about this particular case. Nothing.

Let me ask you a question. I have read all these post so it may have been addressed.

Exactly what court of law do you think the NCAA and the COI work in?

To be fair, they work in the same court of law as most Ole Miss grads.

They most likely should have accepted the self-imposed sanctions and moved on

Stopped reading right here as I figure you are a dumbass.

Did it not occur to you....those penalties will happen regardless?

They should turn every single OM poster's name to your CHFDidnothingwrong for the duration of this season as part of a Tiger Droppings Penalty Phase for your program being cheating, delusional shits.

I'm not an OM fan you hairy pig fan.

I made this account after a year of lurking because I wanted to join in the OM fun. Then I learned Freeze was a creep and wanted my name changed.

And people wonder how the Black Bears got in such deep shite AND why they defend HF so strongly...or did. IF I am reading this right, the NCAA needs to settle this asap as the NCAA is in grave perhaps terminal danger if it prolongs its investigation. Its problem/s would come not from the Black Bears but "other sources". Just curious, what sort of "other sources"? Boosters? Joe Alum? The word "delusional" keeps popping up here in regards to Black Bear fans. For good reason. Please do keep fighting the good battle, get down & dirty. Sue the NCAA. Discovery alone could easily take a year. Who of the Black Bears' athletic dept. wants to give a deposition under oath ? Do you really want HF to be subpoenaed as a hostile witness, testifying as to who know what when? Yet, the NCAA should be scared?

That would get them kicked out of the NCAA. frick it! I hope they do. You should tell them to go ahead and sue them.

I hope they do boot them. Then the SEC can replace them w/a far more valuable school in a new market like East Carolina.

Trust me,

Why?

Trust you because you read another thread on the OM Spirit written and influenced by the same people that got OM into the situation they are in now?

Trust is something your institution doesn't have much of right now. You should probably trust anyone associated from the OM side of this investigation about as much as Jill trusts Hugh right now.

The investigators look to have messed up this case.

The reason everyone is enjoying this dumpster fire is the arrogance OM and some fans such as yourself perpetuate.

We are one month away from the meeting with the COI. You are correct in that people on social media don't really know what will happen at the meeting. But everyone knows what the charges are and everyone knows what the penalty guidelines matrix looks like.

A reasonable person can look at the two and deduce what sanctions will be enforced.

Keep the faith and don't worry about your blind side. The COI is going straight for the throat.

Keep in mind that the COI members names were supposed to be confidential, Ole Miss was explicitly instructed that the names of the members who would be hearing the case were to be kept confidential, along with the date, time and place of the hearing. Of course Ole Miss then publishes the information on its website for the world to see. Seems sort of symptomatic for way Ole Miss has operated through the whole process. Is there anyone who has a clue running the show there?

I'm sure the committee members feel much better knowing that they are now subject to possible harassment by irate fans.

I don't think they will go beyond a formal 2 year bowl ban but the scholly numbers are about what I expect - which will make the length of the formal bowl ban completely irrelevant.

Not true. When caught red handed, most programs clean house instead of doubling down on the folks that got them in the mess.
