Well, the lines are certainly more blurred now than ever before. But I think SBB is simply a blogger/gossip columnist who mostly links to things that have been reported by others and offers commentary.

Occasionally he "reports" stories, but even then I suspect he is being fed information by actual reporters that have standards that prevent them from running with the story until confirmed. Also, he openly discusses rumors that have no sourcing whatsoever.

I am not saying he is always wrong, just that he doesn't operate like traditional reporters who do/should have a standard to insure the accuracy of their information before going to press.
