Good. It's causing chaos around the hiring process.

bullshite. It's mostly early enrollees anyway, who have to get their financial papers and class registrations set up in two weeks.

Chaos around "the hiring process" is a problem schools bring on themselves. Maybe their hiring and firing processes and timing should revolve around recruiting deadlines set up for the benefit of the high school kids instead of the other way around.

ETA-

The NCAA represents (or should represent) a whole lot more than just Notre Dame, LSU, Florida, and Oklahoma, or whatever big schools enter the coaching carousel every year. Rules on early signing are for the benefit of every school. If they reel that back because a bunch of cigar chomping fat alcoholic boosters want more flexibility in their shenanigans, then frick them. Accept the fact there will be a recruiting problem when you change coaches, accept that a portal already exists, accept all of the things that are legal now that weren't legal five years ago, and build your program back up. Why blow up the system because 3 or 4 schools find themselves fricked by it when they fire their coaches, knowing full well in advance that that firing could destroy that year's recruiting class?

Man he is right. Due to the recruiting time line, ADs have to hire before the season is over of miss part of the recruiting process.

One solution talked about was pushing it back to Jan

No it isn't. The majority of the class signs in the early signing period and a small fraction of that is early enrollees.

No it really is beneficial for everyone involved. Kids have to find a new landing spot if a coach is fired and you can’t not have a head coach with the early signing period. It puts everyone in a bind or you keep said coach in place sign your class and then fire him? That’s not right to do to the players as well.

That would solve both issues allowing ADs and coaches to not have to have their staff filled out by Dec 15 for recruiting and still allows early enrollees to sign and get registered for classes.

If they want to stop the effect its had on the hiring process, then will need to alter the transfer portal too

It impacts any school that hires a new coach which then impacts any recruit that is interested in that school. Then it impacts the schools that get their coaches poached which in turn impacts the players on those rosters and the players that they are recruiting. Then the same thing happens when those schools begin to poach coaches and so on and so on. Acting like this is a position because a few big schools hired new coaches is dumb.

It’s perfectly fine for the players… they have a free transfer. Keep your coach or take the risk.
