I must have missed that because I only read one of your posts. At least you are one of the smarter Auburn fans......speaking of which, where's CPA?

Having Newton eligible and him, Auburn and the SEC cleared of wrong doing is great for all involved, including the SEC, all SEC programs and all of college football. All college football fans should be pleased. Now we can root for SEC football National Championship #6 since the 2003 season...WOW!!

I just found the transcription of the Newton's lawyer's case to the NCAA. Genious really
"Ladies and gentlemen of the NCAA, I have one final thing I want you to consider. Ladies and gentlemen, this is Chewbacca. Chewbacca is a Wookiee from the planet Kashyyyk. But Chewbacca lives on the planet Endor. Now think about it; that does not make sense!
Why would a Wookiee, an eight-foot tall Wookiee, want to live on Endor, with a bunch of two-foot tall Ewoks? That does not make sense! But more important, you have to ask yourself: What does this have to do with this case? Nothing. Ladies and gentlemen, it has nothing to do with this case! It does not make sense! Look at me. I'm a lawyer defending a college football player, and I'm talkin' about Chewbacca! Does that make sense? Ladies and gentlemen, I am not making any sense! None of this makes sense! And so you have to remember, when you're in that meeting rooms deliberatin' and conjugatin' the Emancipation Proclamation, does it make sense? No! Ladies and gentlemen of this supposed jury, it does not make sense! If Chewbacca lives on Endor, you must rule eligable! The defense rests."

I don't think that they've been "cleared" ... just that he's eligible. So said investigation is still on going.
For the record, I hate Auburn.

This ruling was just for the media IMO. Now they can pretend nothing is wrong until months or years down the road when the investigation is conducted and finished and AU will vacate the season, but by then nobody will give a shite. frick the NCAA for ruining CFB and frick Auburn for being the dirty corrupt program they are!

This, the investigation is still ongoing they have just come out and said that he is eligible for now. It takes a while for the whole investigation to be complete.

PP7 would like to thank the LSU program for being the same type of program.

the reason Cam was cleared:
The NCAA could find no evidence that AU or Cam knew what Cecil was doing.
The NCAA just threw common sense out the window.
So whats the lesson here? Shop your kids to all schools but 1. If they pay, go to the highest bidder. If they dont, go to your one you didnt solicit.
If it comes public, just say your son didnt know about it and accept your slap on the wrist.
You cant lose!

Didn't Cam tell a Miss ST representative that the money was too good at Auburn to pass up
No, he said he wanted to go to Miss St but the money was too great so he was going to sign with Auburn. That was a phone call before he signed with Auburn.
It was up to Miss St to declaire him ineligible first but they did not because they where in hopes of still getting him to sign with them if they would have dropped the pay for play crap Cam would have still been with Miss St but Cecil said no through Rodgers with that text outlinning his payment schedule.
That is where it ended with Miss St and Auburn came in and I believe Cam knew what was happening (but there was no paper or text message trail to proove it) but what happened they turned that phone call to mean that the money was too much (meaning the money was too much of a gamble to follow through with and not that the money was greater with Auburn), so instead of going through with that he was going to drop Miss St because of the scheme and signed with Auburn who knew nothing of what was happening with Miss St and that is when Miss St turn their report into the SEC but it was too late to declaire him ineligible without increminating themselves and also the SEC office waited until July when Miss St went back to the SEC find out what they where doing and as we all know nothing had been done.
I hace come to the conclusion there is nothing that the NCAA can use or find that will go against Cam Newton or Auburn and that they are not found to be guilty of anything.
I believe Auburn did not do anything as for as money goes to sign Cam Newton and they did not know about this until they heard from the SEC and the NCAA just before the georgia game but, there was nothing that they could show to proove Cam Newton knew anything about what was being done in his name by his Dad. Then Auburn said, they had nothing to proove otherwise so they said he was eligible until something of substance was there to proove him not be eligible. They have continued to play him as any other team would have if they had been in Auburns place.
It is all on his Dad and what a bad feeling it must be knowing that your Dad had tried to sell you for self gain, to me that is selfish dealings for self gain and that as a Preacher of God's Word and as a Dad. I wish the best for Cam Newton and for Auburn as they continue to play for a BCS NC the fifth for the SEC in succession. Like I have a thousand times before what a perfect Mascot to have as the War Eagle I know that is a battle cry but what a Mascot to have as that Bird sets sail across that Stadium it is the best tradition in all of College Football.
If I may I say "War Eagle"!

Everytime this has happened that I am aware of, the athlete has been declared ineligible for some of the games prior once the investigation is concluded.
If this would have occurred before the first game of the season, there would be no problem. Unfortunately for Auburn, even if they didn't know about it. The Newton's violated NCAA rules. I say 1 game at minimum. My guess is if Cam (and Auburn) was squeaky clean, then they don't penalize Auburn for any games in the season, but rule him ineligible for the BCSCG.

So what happened to the hammer being dropped on Auburn? I guess I was right...... I wish someone had taken me up on the bet though. Your prayers went unanswered.

Nobody with more than 2 working synapses believes that Cam didn't know exactly what Pops was up to. Nobody with a scintilla of honesty will assert differently. But if the NCAA can't prove it, the legal liability for declaring him ineligible would make the payoff the Newtons asked MSU for pale by comparison.

Which makes it interesting that AU fans are doing just that.
