Thrilled. Heels should beat up on crappy northern schools before travelling to Fayetteville.

Sure but “let Boston College host because the northeast doesn’t ever get to host” is wanting to show a bias based on region. They bitch about the system being broken while crying about a region getting left out.

I agree. Ideally, the host should be the best 16 teams in the country regardless of their location (a few posters last night didn't care much for the idea that SC got 3 FWIW) but I think for the health of the sport the talking heads would like to see the love get spread out more - especially if the debate over whether a team from Boston or a team from AL should host is a push. Should BC have been launched over a bunch of southern schools just for the sake of having a NE team? No, but there were other options. And is it bias? Yeah, but I guess I understand their logic behind it. Just my opinion of course.

So now that the bracket is out, how many national cedes look like they get knocked out? Who is your most likely to lose in their own regional pick?

Overall, Indiana St has a tough regional and SEC-wise I think UK and Arkansas didn't get any favors by the committee

But whatever, we're hosting.

Appears 1-8 is sort of what was expected. Looks like 9-16 is arbitrary and more about the matchups they wanted and then filled in the numbers.

SEC - Kentucky or Bama, IMO.

I guess I’m a homer but I disagree that Arkansas got a tough regional?

We’ve got #3 seed Arizona who was one of the last teams in the field and #2 seed TCU who was T-4th in a down Big 12 this year.

I agree with you.

Regionals are going to be difficult and on paper this one doesn’t really rank that high compared to some previous years.

And being matched up with the Indiana State regional feels like a big favor as well. Especially when you look at the other teams in the Indiana State regional..

Only concern is UNC coming to Baum to return the favor from last season

Alabama getting a 16 seed is partial payback for their Alabama softball team getting a 5 seed nationally plus hosting when they were a 5 seed SEC tournament team. Plus their softball team got one of the weakest sets of regional and super-regional opponents. AU beat Alabama 2 out of 3 in Tuscaloosa, was a better seed in the SEC tournament, and then was sent to Clemson (again). At least Alabama is hosting.

Tennessee and Aggie got screwed

I think both Tenn and Aggie are being used as stiff tests for the hosts. The committee is seeing how the hosts stack up against the SEC

Maybe I am not giving BC enough respect or over-ranking Ark regional based upon names and past performance, but It still see TCU/Arizaon/Santa Clara a bigger threat than BC/Troy/Nichols in my eyes.

It might also just be a power program bias with the expectation that they have the arms to stretch beyond the standard Friday night starter

Alabama softball had more quality wins than Auburn softball. Auburn baseball has less quality wins than Alabama baseball and more losses.

Alabama probably should have been an 8-9 in softball but they scheduled a terrifying OOC schedule and won a bunch of those games against other elite teams (UCLA, FSU). Auburn scheduled a tough OOC schedule in baseball and lost a bunch of the games, which is how Alabama ended the year with more Q1 and Q2 wins than Auburn (in both baseball and softball).

It's not exactly the same. But it doesn't matter that much.

Thanks to a tough schedule we got in. Oklahoma also owns the No. 15 strength of schedule, according to Warren Nolan, which no doubt played into securing a bid.

OU baseball has a rich history in the Commonwealth of Virginia.

They’re 2-for-2 advancing out of a Charlottesville regional/Super the past 13 years, and 4-for-4 in regionals and Supers in the state.

Alabama getting screwed makes perfect sense when you realize the chair of the committee is Auburn’s little bitch AD.

He was a well regarded coach, don't think I would call him that. He's definitely playing for the home team and conference, but who wouldn't?

Wins against Top 50:

#16 seed Alabama - 17

SOS - 14

#10 Coastal Carolina - 10

SOS - 15

Coastal shouldn't be higher than a 14 seed - and probably 15 or 16. their RPI currently sits at 14 - behind Campbell.

Wouldn’t shock me. Albeit it being SEC competition, Kentucky hasn’t won a meaningful series other than South Carolina in a quite a while. Let’s hope home field advantage can push them to a super regional for the first time since 2017
