The only thing I can think of is he’s already warmed up so some of the wear and tear is already done. Might as well let him walk away with a good taste in his mouth heading into tomorrow.

I don't think it was panic, I think it was a mental thing. The team was dicking around and playing with fire. He brought in Kopps and everyone got focused.

It's actually fine. He has thrown more in pen warm up than on the field.

I'm telling you, Dave is just padding Kopps stats. Put him in when it was tied because we were going to bust out. Get Kopps a W because there won't be a save opportunity later.

Yeah I just assumed after the floodgates opened, we'd pull him back out. He's not having to throw many pitches though.

I view it more as a wakeup call to the team, which worked.

Agree 100 percent. They weren’t right mentally, Kopps comes in, Franklin makes a great play and the rest is history.

He's probably gonna pitch 20-30 pitches all 3 days if necessary. That's kinda his workload for a weekend, 60-100 pitches.
