Who wants to go to Indianapolis, Minneapolis, or Detroit in January?
All 3 cities have domed stadiums. What's wrong with any of those cities hosting. I've been to New Orleans at least 5 times, get less and less fun every time I go. Saying New Orleans is a nicer city than Indianapolis or Minneapolis is ridiculous! Catering to the South again!

The Alamodome isn't a top notch facility, especially for football. It's not bad (good enough to host a bowl game obviously) but I could see that being why. San Antonio would be a fun place for a game like this though, for sure

They are cold as frick and miserable in the winter. If Aggy finally made a national championship only to have it be in fricking Detroit I would be so pissed

I can understand the arguments for Minneapolis and indy, but gtfo with Detroit.

Stop bitching and if you really think those cities are better then Atlanta or New Orleans you're insane

ESPN commentators just said that they wouldn't be upset if 3 of every 4 Super Bowls and 3 of every 4 NCAA championships were held in NOLA.
That's because they treat the media well. The New Orleans Super Bowl media parties are pretty legendary. Doesn't mean that's the best fan experience. Variety is better, and the common man doesn't get a party thrown for them.

Says the people who are BITCHING about having to actually travel to the North. And YES, Minneapolis and Indianapolis blow New Orleans out of the fricking water. New Orleans is equal to Detroit. Strait dumps!

You do realize these sites are decided by bidding, right?

Why do you think ALL the historic major bowl games are located in southern, warm cities dip shite?
Posted on 11/4/15 at 1:29 pm to Buckeye Backer
Where was I ever bitching? And you do know the other games have been out west? Only two in the south retard

Ugh, Santa Clara? Did no one see the pac 12 championship last year? There were incredibly heavy gusts and it just looked miserable.
Posted on 11/4/15 at 1:30 pm to Rex
Can they keep the power on though?

And what about the rest of the time you're there? You can only be in the stadium for about 6 hours.

Ford Field is a really cool stadium, even if it's in Detroit. But I do have to say the MGM hotel is probably the best I've stayed in, so that's something

Minneapolis is the best of all listed in terms of livability. To visit for a bowl game? No, not even close.

Vikings new stadium should have got one of the bids
