If they want to win at the level I know they want and start competing in the East, then Freeze is the only hire to do that. Period

Naiper beat Freeze head to head when the Cajuns played Liberty last year.

Last year isn't the same as this year. See his team being ranked for the time being. He was rebuilding the team and now this year looked a lot better and that is what a good HC does to have a good team.

Chadwell is my pick. Napier and Beamer tied for 2nd. The more I think about it I believe Freeze probably views SC as a stepping stone. Gamecocks dont need that.

Freeze wants ANY P5 job he can get and he likely will. That said why would you want to live in Michigan when you can coach in the SEC?

Given everything going on with LSU, no chance the SEC signs off on ANY SEC team hiring Freeze this year.

How's he doing this year?

This season is unique. In many ways, the season shouldn't have even been played this year.

Sure some teams can just go on and not miss a beat like Bama or Ohio State but those are essentially the only places that covid didn't hurt.

Regardless, it's very difficult to say that Fleck couldn't make the jump to a major university when he won more games in year 3 than that university had won in over 100 years.

Only issue is Tanner will find a way to mess it up and hire someone else that might be a shocker!

There is a massive difference between Tanner's role in the last hire and this one. Tanner is basically being touted as being in charge of this search for optics only. We've hired a search firm this time whereas we did not last time and Caslen will be heavily, heavily involved in this hire.

The idea that we're still content with 4 6-6 seasons over a 10 year period or some shite is ludicrous.

USCe people are happy with a mid-tier bowl game once or twice every three seasons.

Not sure you read his post, or maybe I misread his post. Mid-Tier bowl game to me is roughly a 8-9 win regular season record. He's saying that 33-66% of the time, most SC fans would be happy with that. You may disagree with him, but that's not equivalent to 40% 6 win seasons over 10 years being the ceiling.

In what world is what freeze did on the level of what LSU is being accused of?

Wasn't Beamer an assistant at USCe under Spurrier (didn't Beamer and Spurrier give each other's kids jobs?)

How would you know? Drinkwitz has been doing very well so far and your fan base have said Drinkwitz isn't going to be good at Mizzou. Yet Arkansas hired 3 failed HCs before you got Pittman. I am not sure how he will do but he is going to be right there with Drinkwitz. No one will know for sure if Drinkwitz and Pittman can get it done and win 9-10 games in their 3rd or 4th year.

A. I’m not “most Arkansas fans”. Personally, I liked Drinkwitz.

B. This isn’t about Pittman, I didn’t hire him, I didn’t even bring it up.

C. I don’t know. I just have a strong suspicion Napier is highly overrated. We bouts to find out, I believe!

He was. One of the better recruiters, too

Interesting note. Clemson fans and media have been harassing the hell out of Freeze and the talking waterhead for ESPN upstate (Marc Ryan) attacked him and Freeze replied. He wasn't @'ed in this particular tweet so he must be searching his name. There were Gamecocks in the thread defending Freeze and he was appreciative. I mentioned in another thread that about a dozen or so of our fans received DMs from Freeze a couple of days ago. He also tweeted he'd called one of our fans yesterday bc the guy is going thru a lot of serious issues right now. An awful lot of attention is being paid to our fan base by him.

Seems pretty average. Scott Frost, Mike Norvell, Justin Fuente, Matt Campbell, Chris Klieman, Todd Herman, PJ Fleck, and on and on it goes.
Who does todd herman coach for?

Read that again very slowly and think about what you just said. Alabama has been winning nattys since before D day sir.

Not sure, but his little bro Tom coaches for some old has-been team that still thinks they're relevant.

I guess if they really were, I wouldn't have had a hard time remembering ole Tom's name.
