This cracks me up and shows you just how easy it is to "create" a traditional rilvalry.

We played Miami 49 times from 1938-1987 and 5 times since (started in 1938). Miami leads the series 28-26 and has won 6 out of the last 7. That is only 5 games in the loast 25 years. If we hadn't discontinued the seried on a yearly basis we would have played 74 times.

On the other hand, we played Tennessee a grand total of 21 times up to 1993 (1st game in 1916), and have played them 20 times since. Up to '93 UT led the series 15-6. Since '93 UF is 16-4 and has taken the lead overall 23-19.

My point is this. Traditional rivalries are great, but not absolutely crucial. Fla v Tenn became a great rivalry in a short time, and most would concede that it went from non-rival to rival status in about 5 years as soon as we started playing annually. It can also slip into non-rivalry status pretty quickly if UT doesn't get their shite together.

Sorry for thread hijack, please carry on with the LSU-Bama bitchfest.

1. Notre Dame (real biggest rivalry)
2. UCLA (Little Bros. who think they are our biggest rivals who we own 46-29-7)

These are the only two teams considered to be "rivals."

We are most obsessed with Alabama currently, but that changes as our threats evolve. Was
Auburn a few years back, and Florida is a constant.

Ole Miss
Aggy

These are the only 2 schools that qualify, and make me sick at the thought of losing a game to them. Tulane would qualify, but they gave up on football a long time ago.

No. The thing is back when the Big XII was all intact, we would play the Illini once a year. They would hit you with team smack talk, but also with the arrogant Big Ten shite talking also.

The basketball rivalry is always fun every year.
