Auburn's still got Yella Fella and his propaganda crew doing false dossiers on the football coach, and Bobby Lowder I guess
Auburn is more complicated than that:
OldFellas: Rane and Lowder
NewFellas: There is a new generation of donors emerging. We don’t really know who they are but it probably includes the Neville Family (just donated $20m to the Basketball program), Brown family (donated $57m), Apple CEO and billionaire Tim Cook, Cam Newton and Charles Barkley are getting more involved, potentially alumn and Amazon Global Consumer CEO Dave Clark, businessman & investor Sanjay Govil, among others. This is a good thing because these people don’t want full control and it is not just 1 or 2 people.

What has Cook done for Sports?
No flame but he doesn’t seem like a guy that would care about Sports

A lot of folk's didn't see it but Arkansas and Auburns NIL programs were both nominated for Institution of the Year awards.

We don’t really know but some people insist he is doing some stuff behind the scenes. He showed up for the Iron Bowl back in November - addressed the team, attended the game, and was named Iron Bowl honorary captain (this just doesn’t happen without some level of involvement). Hopefully, he will get more involved in the future. He is definitely a huge sports fan.

Harry,I'm sure your monetary donations and contributions aren't where you desire right now. However,I know your support for the University of Arkansas is immeasurable to the university and athletic fund raising entities.

I’ve heard George Soros funds Alabama because he ran out of other evil things to fund

Carolina's is the only Super Donor of anyone in college athletics to have successfully sued the Taliban.
Joe Rice of Motley Rice.
here he is laughing with Spurrier while golfing at the RBC Heritage.
Rice also won with another Gamecock Dustin Johnson at the 2009 Pebble Beach Pro Am.
one of a couple he owns ... this one's a 100' ... called Rice Quarters.
not bad for a SC boy who used to work the door at the Spanish Gallion in NMB before Law school at USC.
he built USC a nice 68000 sq ft Rice Plantation in 2012, too.

Wasn't Loadholt's name once in the name of the law firm? From Barnwell, SC. Miles Loadholt. He used to be on our board, I think?
ETA: looks like he's still on the board unless Google is wrong.

Tony Buzbee in Houston, a few Fortune 500 and 100 CEOS, and several Middle Eastern tycoons (and a handful of American and Qatari magnates) are likely amongst our wealthiest lads.
But who knows whether any of them actually donate to athletics?
I think it's far more likely that we have an abundance of millionaires (vs billionaires) in multi-disciplinary fields who contribute across the board, rather than one or two principal donors (i.e., T. Boone Pickens at Okie State) who finance the AD.

Bill Gatton- $60 Million
While a student at the University of Kentucky, Gatton began his career in the automobile industry as a sales associate at L.R. Cooke Chevrolet in Lexington. After receiving his MBA, he opened one of the first Volkswagen dealerships in Kentucky. Eventually, he owned a total of nine automobile dealerships in Tennessee, Alabama and Texas.
Gatton has also made investments in banking. In 1981, he formed Area Bancshares of Owensboro, which grew to become the largest bank holding company headquartered in Kentucky, owning 17 banks with 65 branch offices across the state. Area Bancshares had $3 billion in assets when he sold it to BB&T in 2002.
Gatton has likewise been involved in major real estate ventures in multiple states including the Beaumont development in Lexington.

One might be surprised at the number of people scattered in Arkansas that went to work for WalMart in the early 80s that have nice retirements now. A little stock back then grew nicely. Couldn't tell it by the way they live.
