You put him into a Les Miles LSU team, he probably goes back-to-back national titles. He's the unicorn Les always looked for, but could never land.

He might have won a national championship. But he would not have sniffed the Heisman and would have been a mid-round NFL pick at best.

Jayden Daniels was in the absolute best position he could be in to maximize his financial value. That is why it is weird to see LSU fans keep throwing his name out. He was in a GREAT situation; surrounded by a solid offensive line and 1st round NFL receivers. And he was asked to score every possession. For a QB wanting to go to the NFL it doesn’t get any better.

Anthony Wright would have been better than Connor Shaw if they traded places.

At the end of the day, Brodie probably slayed more strange than any SEC QB we may have ever seen.

Baw with that swoop to the side was the quintessential SEC QB look
JPW was more admired by the ladies than Brodie.

I'm not going to disagree with this, but I would simply reply-

I'm a fan of my college team. LSU, in this case. Yeah, it's great that Daniels won the Heisman and went #2 overall. It's cool that he's been great in the NFL.

If I could trade that for 2 national titles (and I think he wins both years in a Les Miles team), I would in a heartbeat.

We ALL want to be LSU 2019- undefeated national champ; QB wins Heisman and goes #1 overall (Burrow). Best WR in college (Chase wins Biletnikoff). RB is 2nd leading rusher in conference (CEH). O Line voted best in college, Delpit (safety) voted best DB, All American corner, etc etc. Awards are great.

If it's one OR the other, I take the natty. I'm sure you would too. For players, I'm sure it's the other way around most of the time.

That Chiefs team was absolutely awful...especially on the OL. They made the Browns look like Super Bowl contenders back then. Brodie was absolutely murdered...I've never seen a NFL OL that bad.

The Chiefs o-line from '01-'06 is considered one of the best ever, alongside the Cowboys in the late 90's. They fell off when Brodie came.

He also had a coach in Hern Edwards that badly wanted Brodie as the starter, but he could never really take over with competition from greats like Damon Huard, Tyler Thigpen, and Matt Cassell.

I actually think Brodie was a good college QB. I just disagree with the fact that he would have been an all-time great on a more talented team.

The obvious answer to the question as it relates to Bama is Namath. Dude had a golden arm but only passed for 2,700 yards in 3 years. Put him on the Mac Jones led teams and see what would happen.

Brodie couldn't take a hit. Gadsdenstans would tell you that today.

Hmm sounds like what you really want is a Sabanesque dynasty. You almost had it too

I mean Tech wasn't awful but I wonder what Patrick Mahomes could've done at a powerhouse.

Texas Tech was 16-21 when Mahomes was there. They were TERRIBLE. They did beat Texas during that period though.

Mahomes was all there was on those teams. Seemed like they may have had what passes for a decent linebacker by big12 standards during that era also. TT may have pushed 500 if they would have stopped throwing the ball with a lead but they wouldn't and they weren't....they were lousy
