I remember Woodard. 260-pound Wishbone fullback. Crazy for that time.

Kenny Irons …. in 2005 he stepped off the bus in Baton Rouge and called his shot against heavily favored and 6th ranked LSU …. and told espn’s cameras he expected to rush for two bills ….. and then he went out and delivered for 218 yards.

Came here to mention Peyton Hillis but someone mentioned him a few pages back. I’ll also add:

Musa Smith - ended up being drafted in the 3rd round and played 4-5 season in the NFL and doubt many non-UGA fans remember him

Yes. That injury was one catalyst that started the serious talk about the turf being replaced. He was hurt in 1990, and 1993 was the last year we played on it. There had been some talk about going back to grass. The discussion started in seriousness immediately after he was injured.

His knee just never fully recovered.

Linnie Patrick. I believe he was the #2 recruit behind Herschel walker. Had a few really good games but stayed in Bear’s doghouse.

And damn he was a machine, I remember when you guys played Auburn in the pouring down rain there and the players would slide another ten yards when tackled.
